Previous gen TL wins over a new Maxima in my book. The new TLs got slower & uglier.

I agree the previous TL was the best looking, especially the S with the gun metal rims and dual tip exhaust. The new TL did get a fraction slower but thats due to the weight increase thanks to AWD. For a DD i would trade a little accel for AWD in the snow.

It sounds like a sport package to me. The best one!

Acura TL all the way. You will go 250 to 300k without any trouble and have much better resale.

There are multiple ways to tell. The premium package will have the panoramic roof (the roof will be all black,) 18's, air contioned driver's seat, rear window sunshade, wood trim, 7 inch color monitor with backup cam, usb connectivity.

The sport will have 19's, rear spoiler, smoked headlamps and dark finish grill (2011 and later only,) HID's and other misc things.

The best way to tell the two apart when looking at them is look for the all black roof.

BTW, DS (drive sport) mode is much more fun to drive in rather than letting the CVT do it's own thing.

keep in mind that you can't drop the rear seats with the Maxima sport package... it has braces behind the rear seats! just an FYI if she needs to haul long stuffs..

and yes, DS mode is fun! but not as fast as regular D. just feels faster!

    Maxima is a better car.
I have had acuras over the years.
To many problems with those cars. Specially with the trans.

I know many of you haven't heard this.
But that's my experience. Will NEVER. Buy an Acura again

Sucks about the seats. If I HAD to choose something wrong with our Maxima, that would be it.

she really likes that option.......just gotta find something close enough to us to go check out. Everything we're finding that's optioned right with low miles has been 2-3 hours away. Want to get something a little closer.

using the paddle shifters would be manual mode. DS gives the car a feeling of shift points more like a normal auto.

when it's in D push the shifter 1 click to the left and it is in DS. i am not 100% sure how it works if you have the paddle shifters though to the honest but i would think the shifter works the same way....

from that left-center position in my car i can use manual mode by tapping the shifter up or down. the up or down tap takes it out of DS and puts it in to the manual mode gears.

Oh ok. You still have to shift it even with that though. Well at least i think so. To me the paddle shift isnt bad at all. Just tough to figure out shift points with the CVT

nope, there are 3 separate modes.. D (normal CVT mode) DS (simulation of a 6 speed automatic) and Manual mode (simulates 6 speed manual shifting)
