So where was the water coming from, an outside edge of the gasket?

Yeah, if the water would have decided to have a playdate in the cylinders, I would have left it in a parking lot long ago and never looked back.

Good question. Now I am wondering if the coolant was coming from the lower intake manifold gasket. I have heard of the front and rear lower manifold gaskets being a PITA to seal if they aren't one piece.

I wouldn't think so, I imagine that would have been somewhat visible (we were watching it as it happened trying to figure out where it was coming from). Judging by the removed head gasket it happened at the back edge of the head. But, in the off chance it is what you say, that's getting replaced for a second time as well anyway

Had it checked this afternoon after pulling it all apart again this morning.

So with new gaskets & bolts, about to repair it for the second time.

I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Uh yeah, the first time my intake gaskets went bad it was waterfalling... That's why you don't get pissed off, blame it on the hard to replace part and leave the car dead. But anyways DO NOT USE THE END RAIL GASKETS. Use rtv.
