they were built kind of like the VW bug, where the body unbolts from the pan.
I'm basically going to weld the outer perimeter of the pan where the body bolts to a full tube chassis with cage.
a friend has a narrowed ford 9" that was built for a dragster 24o wide..mildly built 289 will move it right down the track as light as it is
So. You are going to keep it front wheel drive? That'll be unique with that Ford 9". And, also going to keep the manual gear shifter on the column? LOL. J/K! However, I did drive a 1972 Chevy G-20 van, it had a 350 4 bbl with 3 on the tree, are you old enough to know what that is?

But you're right, that light weight beast will move down the track real nice.

no, when I get done with the Saab it will be RWD.....but I am using the front suspension, just pulling the halfshafts out and running empty hubs.
probably going to need to go auto because the thing is so small I don't know if I could fit a tranny tunnel and a 3rd pedal
definately wasn't new when I got it, but I did have a 69 C-10 stakebed with the old strait 6 and 3 on the tree
was the G-20 the little flatnose van? I love those and would pimp one!

The flatnose vans had the engine next to the driver, right? This was not that model, mine was like the ones thru the late 80s. It was converted into a camper van, had a table that converted to a bed, was very useful on summer nights in high school. And other nights.....
