friend of mine who bought a viper was pissed... went to a dealer and they wouldn't even let him sit in one... the guy has a shit load of money... he went to another dealer and said "can i sit in the viper there?" they said sure and started walking twords it and he said "i changed my mind... i'll buy it"...

yeah... but a car that costs that much i don't blame them... but to not allow some one to sit in it is horrid...

If you owned a dealership that sold cars to a very small and exclusive demographic, would you give them out freely?

Some kid comes in dressed in his dad suit and says, "Yeah I'm a baller, 10k a day baby", you'd let him?

Hint: The people who buy cars like Lamborghini's don't need to quarrel with a salesman about a test drive.

I agree with the not allowing test drives. Allowing them to sit in them, that I could see. I guess it depends on the dealership tho.

i drove a 98 viper GTS coupe a few years back,power was FREAKING awesome,stunning car.the seatbelt being backward was a bit wierd though.(the buckle was beside the door instead of being in the middle)

The dealer ships here will let you drive.... IF:

You have 2 seperate personal or cashiers checks, Each for the amount of the Car (asking Price of MSRP whichever's higher) AND they call and verify funds on both.
You give them the checks, Drive, then either buy, or if alls good with the car, Get your money back. If you wreck / Tear it up in any way they cash 1 and give you one, and you bought it anyway.

IMHO you are crazy, The viper is way less car than a vette. HP is higher, sure... But the car itself sucks. I have driven one twice (was Dodge service tech) and they aren't comfy AT ALL... the older ones dont even have ABS!!!!!

I bought my vette 2 years ago with a clean title. Now it is saying that it has a fucking lemon buyback on it from what I hear. If someone could please send me a copy of the carfax/autocheck, I would appreciate it. thanks.
