Who here has driven a Viper
I just about have my 2005 C6 sold and am going to be jumping to a 2003 SRT-10 Viper. In Buffalo, it is near impossible to test drive a viper. I heard they are way more aggressive than a corvette which I love. Out of curiosity, who here has driven one?

I have, it was an older model. Fun as hell, more fun then sex. It's a car you need to have total control for, the car won't aid you... I am not ready for it and glad this was a big open space to play with.

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
they are raw ...think of it like this..a corvette z06 is like a long time girl friend..you can get away with alot...but if you go way to far..she will whip your ass...
the viper is like a 600 lbs gorrilla that thinks you have a pretty mouth ..you get the picture
the viper is naasty..if you push those massive tires too far..its over..there is no coming back..you dont regain control...however..those huge meats to a good job at handling all that torque and power...but you dont "feel" the tires loosing grip...it just happens ..besides that the newer viper is a lot more creature comfort friendly then the old ones and are great cars.

Good analogy. Yeah the viper is like being at the strip bar and getting a private dance with that one dancer that lets ya get away with a lot, the limits are super super high and then without warning the bouncer comes in there and whoops your ass and throws you out the door on your face

Once, 1996 Viper, blue and white stripes. Legendary. Wish I could afford one.

Blue and white is a major collector car. If it was mint I'd be all over it. Even better would be the viper GTS-R if you like the older style

2005 Ram SRT-10 QC 8.3l- 1999 FRC Black
I own the truck and it's too much for you! Just BSn ya mane. They are raw power for sure. They have immediate massive amounts of torque and redline at 6K where the Vette starts out a little tame and you just wonder when the engine is gonna blow as you swing into the 7K rpm zone. The Vette IMO is much better for the money as the Viper has no creature comforts other than A/C and power windows and locks. No fun istruments, just plastic and a steering wheel. Performance wise I'd give it to the Vette, especially a ZO6, in all around manageability and surefootedness. 1/4 miles, long distance, cornering IMO the Vette owns the road. The Viper has it's different look as does the Vette and both are stunners. I think that if you buy a Viper you'll eventually trade back for a vette. ZO6s are getting cheaper by the day and they will walk right next to that Viper.

My father had an all black 2000 GTS ACR. It was allot of fun to drive, but was very touchy. I was following a slow car and decided to down shift into 2nd and pass them and I found out the hard way that you can't do that while the car is not straight, ended going side ways next to the car and some how managed to straighten out with out wrecking...needless to say and went very slow the rest of the way..and could hardly shut the car off from shaking so hard...Very nice car though, a ton of raw power.

Reading all these posts involve a stock Viper. Could you imagine a Hennessy Venom?

Well I must say.....that was a weird ass test drive. He takes out his car and shows me how easy it lays rubber.....definately needs a bit of work, has 50k on it.
