We just got a mini pincher and so far it seems dumber than shit...but it's only 2 month old so who knows. I want another rott but live in a apartment

I've had quite a few small dogs as a kid....labs (if you consider them small...70-100lbs) yorkshire terrier (3.5 lbs.) shar-pei (55 lbs), and a cocker spaniel (40 lbs). They've all been great dogs, but i'm currently looking at either a great dane or english mastiff....only because I've always wanted a bigger dog. The smaller dogs have been very good. Very loyal and some of my best "friends." All my dogs have had different great attributures...I wouldn't trade any of them for any other dog.

how big do those dogs get? It also depends on the nature of the dog. Some dogs will destroy more things than others...(i.e. a lab will chew on more things than a shar-pei). My Shar-pei cost about 300 per year for the first years of it's life. He got cancer at the age of 7 and I spent a $1500 to have it removed. 6 months later it came back and I had to have him put down. My shar-pei was about 50lbs. My labs cost about 8-900 per year. It really depnds on the likelihood of your dog running into health problems common with their breed. I've never had that type of dog so I can't say what they're health is like.
