If you search long and hard and have money ready to go you can get a lot of good deals. But certain things I am afraid to buy used like:
stall
cam
ported heads
shocks (unless koni)
and of course those are the major things that I need right now besides a good set of rims b/c i am still on the ugly z28 snowflake stockers
so how much has your money pit cost you so far?

this is my 3rd f body, and 4th muscle car(had 70 chevelle) i have over 3,500 right now in the rearend and suspension on this car, it already has heads and cam when i bought it, and full exhaust on it, i have a clutch sitting at home and a corsa cb and also a rebuild kit for the 6 speed, i dont want to start adding things up man, lol
and then this winter im getting a paint job, thank god i have dont all the suspension/rearend my self and cltch install etc.

damn sounds like you are doing pretty good then. This is my first "newer" generation car. I bought it bone stock just so i can teach myself what to do. I have learned a lot and had a lot of fun. Money is always an issue when it comes to toys. I HATE REPLACING THINGS TWICE. With one of my older muscle cars I went through 3 totally different engines/setups and I still couldn't deciede on one so I sold the car and went on to something else.

i did the same thing with my chevelle i went through so many different things and just had to sell it, only reason i can afford it is i still live at home and have a pretty good paycheck man, so my thinking is to buy my new truck and buy my boat and do the car thing when im at home then move on out and ill have everything paid for.

I sell them--or rather I can... I never do because a set of Tokico's isn't much less than a set of AGX's that at least allow you some adjustment for the price.

I sell them, and a lot of folks like them. I can't say I love them, but then I'm comparing them to my Koni's. I often recommend them because they are a good, cost-effective option that can damp lowering springs. That's why I generally keep a few set in stock (one now, I'm a bit low, but more coming).

You are asking me to recommend between two different types of shocks that are in reality quite different. I refer you back to my post #6. This has to be your call. I can help, but it's situation dependent for each person.

What would I recommend to run with my springs? Koni.
I'm not being a smart-ass, that's what I run and you can bet if something else did the job I want done for less money, I'd use it too. You guys are as much price shopping as anything (which is ok, just being honest here) so it has to do be a decision you make for yourself.
Damping wise AGX's have more ability to control a spring like mine. But then they aren't as tough, and you gain handling at the expense of some composure on ride in some situations.
I'm being as frank as possible. There is no perfect $400/set answer.
