RED 35TH ANIVERSARY PKG- 2002 CAMARO SS 35th LE
how much does 1 tenth equal in horspower? I would say roughly about 10hp to the wheels..

I've run two Challengers on the street. Both SRT8's and they were good races. At the point where we let off I was ahead. Both were from a roll.
I haven't run one at the track, butt my 02, A4, 2.73 gears and all with just a catback, lid and tune runs a half second quicker than catback tune and CAI SRT8 cars.

Some poeple have gotten low 13's in a stock RT six speed. Taking the air cleaner out actually helps get a few tenths to. Its over on Challengertalk.com forums. I havent ran my 09 RT yet but plan to. It is heavy but its 2 tons of fun. My 02 WS6 T56 weighed 3875 with me in it, I weigh about 330 so it would be at 3500 range. The RT seems to pull harder at full throttle than the WS6 did but the RT also has 375 hp stock and the WS6 stock at 320. The one area that the RT beats the 4th gen is the interior quality, much nicer and fit and finish are better. Havent seen a new 2010 version yet in person to compare.

I've been shopping the Challengers. I think the R/T with the 6 speed is the way to go. You get the limited slip and you get 3.92 gears that wake the car up. I wouldn't be suprised if an R/T with the 6 speed was as quick as an SRT8 with the auto.
I haven't seen any 6 speed SRT8's run. They get the 3.92 gears and limited slip also. The auto cars make due with an electronic differential that uses traction control to limited slip to each wheel and it doesn't work as good as a limited slip. The auto cars also have a 3.08 ratio. It might be 3.12 or 3.02, but it's in that ballpark and that definately doesn't help with all the weight.

You only get the 3.92 gears in the RT of you get the 20 inch rims, otherwise its a 3.73 with ther stock 18's, which I have. I hate automatics so never checked into them as far as gears, I do know they didnt come with LSD though, that sucks. Also if you want a Challenger beter get one off the lot soon, they shut down production for 2 months for the Obamafication(OOps, I mean bankruptcy/Gov't take over) proceedings. Wont be any more 09's made since by the time the 2 months is up the 2010's will be starting production, if they even make those. GM will be shutting down in a month also from what I have heard.

A friend of mine ran 13.217 @ 105.79 with his Challenger R/T, smaller HEMI, K&N filter, Predator 91 octane tune, and a 180 degree thermostat.

i have a R/T challenger auto stock i ran a 13.40 first time to ever run a car at the track the 6 speeds are a little harder to get moving i now there was one guy who ran a 13.1 stock with his auto but i have also seen some guys run in the 15s with then i guess it all comes down to the driver and how well he knows the car

RED 35TH ANIVERSARY PKG- 2002 CAMARO SS 35th LE
I dyno'd 335hp/350 TQ.. So that's about 390-400hp at the crank at least.. watch out for the freak LS1...

Mine wasnt a freak, didnt feel like it had over 320 hp. The RT feels faster in a straight line or at least as quick and its heavier.

Come on you anti 5 guys. The camaro is back for my options for us to play with. You are ignorant if you are against the new camaro or you are unamerican. I f you can't be excited for the fifth gen you need to go and buy some rice burning stuff.I have one of each gen accept for the 5th. I will have a 5th. It is nice to see gm supporting some muscle to shut the challenger and pustang guys up. I agree the challenger looks good but my 4th gen slaughters every one i see!

See my take on them is completly different. The RT boasts 345hp and the SRT-8 425hp. Don't get me wrong great numbers for stock cars but to me something just seems to be missing. I know the cars are heavy and maybe thats what is, because to me they just don't seem to deliver. I mean I walked away from an RT charger back when I had my LT1. Granted it had headers, full exahust, ram air intake and custom tune but that was it. Bone stock an LT1 is only pushing 275hp So with the mods I may have been pushing 290-295hp. This car had no problems taking RT's and this was an auto with stock gears. Even with the weight of the charger they still bone stock had 50hp on me.
