Christmas is now about the children, I agree! My wife and I were typical dual income zero children during first 7 yrs of our marriage.
Our triplets are now 16 yrs old.
We have spent a bunch of cash to be included in the high school marching band trip to Disney World this year, so we're not really spending much for Christmas, plus I just spent almost $1k getting three class rings for those kids. Merry Christmas

I love giving the kids a good xmas....I'm happier watching them open gifts than I am with anything I get. Earlier this year we told Zach Santa wasn't real.....no big deal as he pretty much knew already. In October we bought him a polaris scrambler 500 and told him that was going to be his xmas present this year and since it cost so much that would be it. He was fine with that as he'd outgrown his old one and needed one bad. The last few weeks I've told him over and over that his gift had already been bought and given to him and he says "yeah.... I know". I told him that this year was going to be more about Chloe since she still believes in santa and it wouldn't be fair to get him more stuff since he got the quad. What he doesn't know is we got him a 45 cal muzzle loader and a whole stack of stuff. Couldn't leave him out even though he understood why. He's still gonna have a pretty good christmas. Chloe is getting a boat load of stuff but from me she's getting her own fishing stuff. She always uses my rod and tackle so I got her all her own shit this year. Got her a pfluger rod/reel, tackle box, fish grabber, hook puller, fish scale/tape measure, pliers, gloves, and about $100 worth of tackle. I'll be borrowing her stuff now.

My son forgo his class ring. He doesn't like wearing jewelry, got that from Karate.
For my girl, got her the ipod mini and several other things (mom got, I have no clue) for our son got him his first tool box and mom again got him more little things. He knows the PS4/Xbox One will have to wait till they get some in stock.
For the wife kids got her some fufu soap (that's what I call it) form Body Works and gift cards form the stores she loves to go to. She hits them the day after because they usually have better sales after Christmas then before.

One of these days I'm going to have someone sit down and explain why these soaps are so popular with women. Most women are into those smelly soaps and lotion. My wife has 459 different bottles of lotion around that all smell different and all evidently have different purposes. Call me crazy but if your ass stinks you wash it with whatever soap is available and call it a good to go. You have some dry skin then you put some lotion on it. Every cabinet we have has a different colored bottle of lotion in it. I don't get it.
