Maintenance and upkeep isnt something you should factor in to the corsica when considering selling it. Making money on used cars is a rare thing. Just get rid of it. If you lose a couple hundred bucks so what. It would be worth it not to have to store it, insure it, register it, and maintain it. And now that I think about it, it'd be worth 200$ not to have to look at an old corsica on a daily basis.

I am by no means counting oil and such into the equation, just stated it to show how the car has been taking care of in the years. I've put the following into this car within the last 2 years
Alternator/water pump/heater core/radiator/new brakes all around/heater fan/new upper and lower intake gaskets/oil pump drive/transmission pan gasket and filter/tires/rear shocks/front struts/cd player/battery.
$500 is lowest I'd go considering that list of parts

You test drive a Corsica? I would tint the windows....for fear people would see me driving it.

I wonder how much I can have milled off the Lac's heads when I send them in to be checked. Costs no more then a clean up mill DAMN! The mod bug has me hard

You could put the mod bug to rest for a while if you finished your damn camaro and had a 400whp car to drive this season
Nice car for 400 bucks even if the head gasket is blown but def not something you should try to mod. A buddy at work has the same car as you and he raced another buddy from works acura TL S 270hp 4 door acura. The caddi got smoked, it was pretty close until 30-40mph and then the TL just pulled the crap out of it to 80 or 90.Last edited by Zinergy; 02-23-2012 at 06:17 PM.

Hey man just saying. I get distracted from my projects easily as well when something cool comes along at a great price but its about time you got the SS up and going. I am sure you will enjoy yourself more once its done. Just keep chanting that little poem to yourself lol

I concur and the mod bug has past. I promise to myself I will only spend what I need to get the Lac up and running properly. I should just sell the Corsica because its a money pit
Then hit the Maro up, hard and fast.

As a advocate of the LQ1 (father of the Northstar) I surely hope your buddy has experiance with the DOHC cam timing setup of that engine.
If not it won't make it out of the garage..
Nice ride none the less!
Once you get her up and running I suggest a louder exhaust, being a DOHC they sound amazing wound up, you won't be disapointed..

LOL most of us have come to grips with the fact that LS1s are not the best sounding V8s. Hell there are 220hp mustangs that have a better sound. What the Northstar is lacking though is any good reason to build or mod it.

Psst says you..
That's you opinion. People say the same about v6's yet it's done everyday..
I could easily say the same for dinosaur 2 valve v8's..
More likely because of the cost people think they're not worth modding.
However Northstars get modded all the time.
The Fiero crowd has been modding Northstars for 20+ years..Last edited by Smittro; 02-24-2012 at 04:57 PM.
