Satin Silver / RED- 02 Acura RSX/93 Transam
Thinking of buying this TA, need some help.
I've been searching for a mechanically sound, relatively inexpensive 93 and up TA that I can use as a weekend car and slowly fix up. I've come across a red 95 relatively close by. It has around 135k on it. It has some extensive engine work and is supposed to be making around 385 HP. Assuming its in halfway decent condition body wise, and mechanically trouble free, what do you all think it might be worth? If it is actually putting down that kind of power, what kind of times should it potentially be capable of?

+1. that much at most. miles are too high. if he starts talking about how much money he has in the engine, too bad. Everyone knows you never get that back out of it. the wear and tear of 134k on the rest of the car is not enough to counterbalance the better engine.

I could see someone asking 6-7k is it is there babay and they think it is worth more than it is (like most people privately selling there car usually do).

I wouldn't pay more that $5000.00 for it especially with that kind of milage on the car. We need more info about the car and possibly some pics.

I only have a few pics, and the only thing you can see from them is that its red. No close up shots or interior pics. Anyone ever hear of not having a functional reverse gear because of a "bent shift fork"? From what my father, who owns a garage, tells me, the only way you could see that problem would be to have the tranny apart, at which point you'd simply fix it. Thats the only mechanical problem listed. If it simply requires tearing apart the transmission to fix it, no big deal, like I said, dad owns a garage. However if its probably going to require a rebuilt transmission, and he's BS'ing me here, then I need to rethink the $$ argument.
Also he said he's bypassed the heater core. How labor intensive is that to undo?
Thanks again guys for all the input.

With the tranny problem, too much.
But I think I can negotiate to what I feel is a deal. I'm just wondering how much this problem could potentially run me. Also, any estimates on 1/4 times? I'm assuming somewhere mid 12's shouldn't be too hard correct?

I've got 342 to the wheels and am at 12.1.. so I would imagine high to mid 11s if it hooks...
