silver- 98 T/A WS6
trans am or formula?
i had to go to the dealer to find a certain part. they asked me for my vin and then told me that according to my vin it is a formula, not a t/a. as far as i know, the door sticker doesnt have anything usefull for this question, but it does say ws6 but im pretty sure a t/a or a formula could have been a ws6. anybody know what my car is? it says trans am on the body.

TA's have a different front and rear bumper cover and have side body modling, the Formula has the same front and rear bumper covers as a V6 Firebird. The TA has the Formula RPO code as well as the TA RPO code (the TA started life on paper as a Formula) Hope this helps...

Navy Blue Metallic- `98 Formula M6 HdTp
The vin number does not distinguish between a Formula or a Trans Am.
This has been covered time and time again [check the sticky ws9 vs ws6]
But in short the guy at the dealership doesn't know squat. When they run the vin it will come up as a Formula/Trans Am.
You should have RPO'S WS9 AND Y82 That tells you you have a Trans Am
All Formula's will have WS9 and W66Craig

Black- 1998 Trans Am WS-Awesome
the only differences between formulas and trans ams...... the front end, bumper, door lettering, and the trans am has the raised spoiler while formulas only have that ugly little bump [no offense to formula owners, i just think theyre ugly]

Trans Ams look good but .... nothing looks better than a Formula WS6 IMHO.

Red- 2000 Trans Am
I had a formula and now i ahve a T/A everytime i drove my formula and someone in a T/A pulled up i just loved the way there car looked, so i had to get one the formula is too plain for me. I always felt like i had the lower class car compared to the T/A.
