How many here have bought a high mileage LS1?
How many here have bought a high mileage LS1? If so what problems have you had down the road? WHat items have you replaced? I am looking into a 98 Ls1 with 139,000 miles on it and just seeing how many here have bought Ls1's with high miles. How reliable has the car been?

green- 94 z28
I bought my 94 z28(LT1) with about 150k miles. Almost instantly I had to pay for a leak in the engine seal, get a new clutch, get the passenger window motor replaces, and a new fuel pump. Costed me almost an extra $1,700 for it all...sort of pissed me off but hey....at least I know the parts are new. The engine still runs good.

18D Cock Diesel- 1999 Z28; 98 SS #2043 RIP
I bought mine with 145000 with a blown head gasket(at first I thought it had a bad engine). I was going to mod the hell out of the motor anyway so I didn't care about the blown gasket. I have not had any problems with the motor since my mods. I got the all the usual mods (lid, loudmouth, headers, k&n, ud pulley), plus LS6 heads and cam put in. I am getting a ford 9" with aluminum case, 3.70 gears and an eaton posi put in next week.
If you're gonna mod the engine, don't really worry about it. The LS1 is an awesome motor. Even with the blown gasket, my LS1 was awesome. they are very well built vehicles. I haven't had a single problem with mine after the mods.

I got 44k miles on my 2002 SS. Both window motors have been replaced and the black part of my top had been replaced due to bubbles forming and glue oozing out of the paint.

Chevy built it right
I bought my 99 w/ 163k on it. Im at 168k now. Thing runs like a bear. Just starting to mod it up a bit. Only issues I have are bad cats, bad pan gasket and bad timing cover gasket. Had to do the d/s window motor, and couple days after adding a short throw I murdered the original, stock tranny mount. But damn was it a hard shift. Lotsa fun.
FOR SALE 2000 Z28 M6

Jetstream Blue Metallic- 2008 Z06 Corvette
62 thousand-broke a rod...piston took a one way flight through the side of the motor. That's 62 thousand, not 162,000. The new LS6 is holding up nicely though.

124K on my 98z, bought in 99 with 20k. Had a sensor and power seat motor to fail at 30K, the T56 began grinding third on cold mornings and of course dealer could not find anything wrong under warranty. Around 80k A/C went out. Numerous tires, brakes and rotors. Trans needs rebuilding (second and mostly third grinds) but still running factory clutch?!? Driver power lock and window needs fixing and passenger window motor is sick. Motor is still strong as hell. Shocks needs replaced but other than trans being weak I have no complaints.
