You got that right! I drove in Texas last year, it was nice to do normal, somewhat agressive driving getting up to speed on their 70 MPH 2-lane higways and use all 6 gears. I owned a 400 4-Speed '67 Firebird for 11 years, and really missed having OD, let alone double OD.

I'd love to have a manual once in a while, but for a dd i'll always go for auto. and i'm really good at shifting, it just sucks after 10 minutes in city traffic...
...voted both...

Both. My current car is an auto and will stay that way as its my "race" car. When I get my new one it will be a stick though.

i have owned 1 auto and 5 manuals. i can drive both but unless its a full size truck and gasoline, its always gonna be a manual for me.

my A4 2001 z smashes fools, but i just can't stop thinking of selling and buying an M6, i love my camaro, but for me it's about all around driving and i miss the manual. i'd like a 02 ws6 m6 and will be looking within the next year.
it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

i've only driven manuals and my dad taught me when i was 12. (3 on the tree)
you older guys well know what i mean. so i looked high and low for a hardtop m6. to me manuals are like blondes- way more fun! but in a traffic jam i'd kill to have an auto some times.
but rikki i'm not diggin on you but i've driven sticks for almost 14 years and it took me a good two months to master the third gear in these cars. third is so easy to miss its not funny. i hate to hear you can't get a 6 but if your ever my way you can drive mine!
my vote M6

well spoken.....i v'e had the m6 for about a year and i bought a 02 ws6 a4.only problem my wife wouldn't drive it.she didn't like the auto either.i hated it cuase i really like the ws6 package all but the t-tops. so we took it back and bought a H3.she couldn't be happier.! so that means i'd happier...

you traded in the WS6 because the T-Tops or because the auto? or both? I'd way rather have an auto WS6 than a H3. but I guess as long as the wife is happy

both really. i think i could live with the tops but i didn't like the auto. i raced my wife in it and i wasn't pulling on her at all in the ws6. plus i like to change gears. shes just like me i tuaght her to drive in my 93 s-10 m5 and since she has had 4 sticks and only 2 autos a 03 s-10 blaser and a 99 cav z24.
the reason we got the H3 is i can't afford a H1! haha and we got 2 kids. you can't go on vacation with a family of 4 and all the luggage in a maro or bird. so we needed a "family car"
plus i'm in the south but i'm not so redneck as to put a hitch on a sports car to pull the boat.

really like my a4, a m6 would be fun but switching gears gets old after a while. Now if I was in my 20's I would say m6.

I have not owned an auto car in more than 8 years! To many problems can occur w/ a auto.

Navy Blue Metallic- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6 T-Top
I'd also ask them how much they had to spend to get their auto to handle that power. My guess - and please remember I'm a newbie - is that upgrading the clutch on an M6 is probaly cheaper than a fully forged bullet-proof 4 speed.
I bought an M6 due to the control factor, the power it can hold, and because I hate the sloppy shifting of an auto. For a car like this, I wouldn't waste my money on an auto. BUT, for a truck or "family" vehicle - auto all the way.
