BS!! how would that work? you take the heavier hood and put it on the ta and it makes it better? the airbox on a TA isn't designed to work with the ram air of the ws6?

The Ram Air hood isn't heavier.

And ANY LS1 F-Body can beat the other. Up to the drivers.

2001-2 has got the same air box the-.ws6 has got.fiberglass hood is lighter than metal hood. the ws6 has got traction controll and a little more suppension than the reg. t.a. any D.A. knows you take two cars with the same motor the heavier one is going to get his ass beat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

maybe so on a m6 car car but not on a a4. my wife kicks ass all the time in my ta.

ws6 hood is fiberglass, making it weigh alot less.

i didnt say the ws6 package is gonna make a huge difference, i said itd compensate for the very very very slight amount of weight difference.
plus, the suspension mods may weigh a bit more, idk... but obviously if theyre suspension upgrades, then they're for the better. the suspension probably would help the ws6 a little too...

wow, am i about to agree with ATC? i say no matter, going to be a drivers race. your talk about "kickin one's ass" is BS. even in an A4, it's going to be who can spin the tires less and take off better. tire pressure is going to have about as much of an effect as the weight of the hood and the suspension parts. you make it sound like its a civic with 350 HP racing a TA with 350 hp

i heard that the fastest stock f-bod was a z28...a 02 a4 hardtop z-28, i believe it didnt have power windows or locks either

a stripper z. its probably true, but if u took a stripper formula, with the exact same options and what not, itd be the exact same. maybe a FEW pounds diferent due to headlight motors...

98-00 had a bigger cam. Not by much though.

Honestly from what I have seen (and read) it is always a drivers race when the cars are both bone stock.

oh i would definitely agree that there is not much of a difference and its DEFINITELY a driver's race. BUT, as far as numbers go, the stripper formys and stripper z's 01-02 would beat out a 98-00. theoretically.

TAs hood may weigh a tad more than the WS6s but those suspension "upgrades" are for handeling and make it firmer, exactly what you dont want for drag racing. The WS6s wheels are heavier than a TAs and slow the car down (unsprung weight) more than the weight of a hood would.
