Black- 2002 Camaro
I believe I read that the block alone is the difference of 20-30 due to the ventalation increase, and I am almost sure that it was GM High Tech that did the dyno numbers. I am unshure if this was corrected so it may have well been 15-25 instead but I believe that they did dyno the other LS1 block in the exact same conditions so it shouldnt matter if they were corrected or not. Also... I am wanting to make sure that no one thinks that just because they had an LS6 block meant that they had the LS6 engine. The F-Bods that got the block got just that.... The block. They recieved all stock LS1 valvetrain and heads with the exception of a revised LS6 intake that was used in 01' and 02' years.

Great info I have a gold 98 Z28 on the oil life monitor it does not tell you anything I did not know it had one. You say you can find it in Auto-TAP what and where is that. I use nothing but Mobile 1 fluids in my car.

Onyx Black- 2002 Z28 Camaro M6
What number would a non LS6 block have?
The reason I wonder if there is a number on the front of my block on the driver side... what is that number?

Artic White- 00 SS Vert.
Does anyone know if there are differences in horsepower with the changes in the LS1's through the years? Were the 98-2000s rated the same?
