Geez, I wish I could have felt comfortable buying a $15K car at 19. My first car cost me $1500 and I happily drove it for 10 years. I wanted my parents to front me $5K at the time for a mustang I liked at the time (flame away), but they refused to do so and now I'm glad that they didn't give me the cash for it.

The money I didn't piss away on a "real" car allowed me to buy my dream home, pay for my wedding, and have no credit card debt (Never paid a dime in interest on a CC).

Many of my friends made the "nice car" decision at that age as well and now whine about how they can't buy a home because they have can't come up with the down payment.

Only 18 year old, I wanted a loan to buy my ws6, go to bank, already had great credit, huge credit card bill monthly, always pay off in full. Bought a 300 dollar radio and paid it off in monthly payments to get more credit. I was doing all the tricks. Go to bank, DENIED. They said even if I get a co-signer with perfect credit they would not give me the loan. I thought that was bullshit.

Long story short, I saved up and paid for the car in full with my own money. Then I drove the car to the bank, pulled my account with them, and took my business else where. I only make 26k a year after taxes and other deductions. It is not that hard to save it up.

Gotta admit, our age group gets screwed, high insurance rates, not allowed to drink alcohol, can't gamble, even with great credit no loans. But hey, feel free to go over to iraq and get shot at, your old enough for that.

That's the one point that does piss me off. You're able enough to die for your country but not mature enough to drink?

Other than that, guys, please think about your future. I'm not planning on Social Security to bail my ass out when I retire. I'm saving now...

Are any of the cars you want at a dealership? Trust me, If you got 6k in hand you will be driving home in that car. I got SH!TY credit. I got 1 charged off credit card, unpaid cell phone, and a repo. I showed up at a dealership where I saw my car. Told them straight up about my credit, man asked if I had money down. I said yes 2k. Went to test drive the car, by time i got back the paper work was ready to sign.

EDIT: Oh and by the way, take REALLY GOOD CARE OF THAT CREDIT. I F'ed mine at a young age and now I am paying for it.

I normally won't get into these discussions but if you promise to be really respnsible with the TA and NOT beat it, trade it in for a ricer, let it go all to shit - then I'll tell you HOW to buy your car.

#1: Credit unions. Locate ANY and ALL in your area. Look for community credit unions where you do not have to be in a specialized field to become a member - GO to them and JUST TALK to the loan officer. Ask specifically for the loan officer, not just the customer service rep. Lay it ALL on the line: SELL yourself! Take a NADA printout and show them what the car is worth, explain how much you have to put down and if you really want to impress, take a copy of your credit report! YES! So you don't have twenty different credit unions inquiring on your credit report (will lower your score bigtime). Show them your report and the NADA report........ AND JUST ASK them to give you any idea if they could approve you. Don't tell them you are desperate, tell them you heard they are a great place to do business with and grow with and you want in......... Sell yourself, I'm telling you: A credit union is the way to go. Fukc a bank. You won't get anywhere there.

Two other websites to use as a last resort:

    Roadloans.com

HSBCAutoFinance.com (or google hsbc automotive finance)

Capitaloneauto.com (last resort, they are tougher to get)

Let me know how it goes.......... AND PLEASE PLEASE TAKE CARE of that WS6 whenever you get it!

hey dude i had the same problem as you. but i know it might sound stupid but if you could try to find a ws6 at a dealership but not any delership find a big one that has a lot of banks they go through becuase my 2001 TA with 29000 miles was going for 17995 and i dropped 8 racks down and when you drop big money down your graunteed the car. and the thing about dealerships you can talk your way into warranties, lower price on car, etc... you just have to work the dealers thats what i did. i got 45000 mile extended warranty, got my car clear coated, detailed my car, dropped the price from 17 racks to about 15500 racks, i get free oil changes for 2 years. and my apr is only 17 not bad for a first time buyer with no credit history. you got ammo to go up in there and start shooting with your crdit score of 720 i almost put money down that you'll get a great deal. i did and my mothly payment is 300

Here is the thing Im not trying to rush into debt. I want a good rate, hence why I have been doing all the credit tricks to make my history look good. My parents wont co-sign because they just paid their house off and have no debt what so ever. When I get denied like this Im like oh its a good thing I dont need to be in debt, then when I see a badass WS6 rolling around Im back on the hunt.

    Parents are fucking pricks.

I will not buy my kids a car, but if they showed they can keep a job, make money, pay off credit like you did, then I'd have no problem helping them get a loan. Especially when you're already putting 6k toward it and only getting a 9k loan.
