If an LT1 is what you wan't, it seems like your right on track as far as bolt-ons. BUT - Dont forget the camshaft. I would go with a LT4 HOT Cam.

The stuff that matters:
Moroso CAI
1LE intake elbow
throttle body airfoil (doesnt do jack really)
AS&M midlength headers (long tubes are overrated)
RT high flow cat
Borla catback
Custom PCM tuning <-- went from 291rwhp to 309rwhp with the tuning.
car is a six speed, stock rear gears. stock throttle body, no roller rockers, no electric water pump, through a cat (no offroad pipe... they're also overrated)...

"[AS&M midlength headers (long tubes are overrated)"
WOW dude, I can't believe you said that, "long-tubes are over-rated". That's a first. I believe long-tubes are worth every bit of the performance gain there acclaimed to be, and dyno tests have proven that over and over again. The only advantage of going with mid-lengths is that you can stay smog-legal while still making additional power unlike shorties, but mid-lengths will never make as much power as long-tubes.

Did you ever see Rich Krause's dyno numbers regarding his AS&Ms? He has a built and supercharged 383, also on the bottle I believe. At power levels of 700rwhp, the Hooker Long Tubes made no more power than his AS&Ms. People are just brain washed into thinking that long tubes are this unimaginable power maker. They're good, but mids can be just as good. It's ok though, more people than you have been brainwashed.

BlackCherry- Bad Ass 67 Camaro / 2010
Well, I have not being paying enough attention to this thread.
For all those that think 60Camarokid is wrong for putting in an LT1 - Shut it.
The LT1 is a perfect for for the 1st Gen Camaro's. It is a very clean looking and easy install. the power numbers are great as well.
I cannot be more pleased with my LT1. I feel it looks far better then the LS1 as well. Giving up a little HP? Sure, but that can be resolved also.
My LT1 is out of a wrecked 97 Camaro. I have had it dyno 300 at the real wheels here in Denver. Nothing but the motor with LT's (sorry 5.0), and 3:73 rear gears, and the air intake is to the far left and front of the engine bay.
the Rear suspension was changed from the Monleaf to a mulit leaf, the rear axle is a 87 Ponitac racing axle with the 3:73 Posi.
The T56 was longer then the original Powerglide, so new Tranny mounts had to be built and installed and a new hole cut into the bottom of the car for the shifter.
True Dual exhaust with LT's installed.
Not being a mechanical minded guy, the whole Frame off rebuilt was done at 3R Automotive in Englewood Colorado.
Custom Body work, RS front end, gas filler/trunk lock eliminated, fiberglass cowl hood, custom Paint (Black Cherry) with Z-28 strips (Black).
All to make one unique car. A true 1 of 1.
