Adding light weight wheels. Just how much will this help?
Just how much would reducing my rotating mass by 14 lbs w/lighter wheels help me out? That's 14 lbs total for all 4 wheels.
Not an f-body obviously, but same deal.'07 MAZDASPEED6 GT

blacker than wesleysnipes- 98' trans am
it will help a good deal since the weight your saving is rotational weight which is the worst. so it would be a worth while mod. you will feel it in acceleration and breaking

If I remember correctly for every 10 pounds you remove from wheel tire combo its like removing 100lbs from the rest of the car. Which usually every 100lbs you remove= one tenth in the quarter mile. When you say 14lbs is that with the same tire that were on your stock wheels? Or are you going with a bigger tire? Alot of time people want or do buy light weight wheels but don't factor in the tire weight. If you stay with the same stock tires theoretically you just removed the equvalient of 140lbs from your car. If you go with a bigger tire it may be less depending on how much more the tire wieghs over the stock tire.

It will substantially help. Also, you need to take the radius into consideration.
Less weight + shorter radius = much less resistance to rotation.

triple-black- 2000 CamaroSS convertible
just make sure the tires you chose won't add 14lbs.
Tire weights vary extremely and they tend to be heavier than the wheels.
it's not uncommon for tires to weight 30+ lbs each.
Check manufacturer specs for weights.Eugenio_SS
