Red- 2002 Trans Am
Very fast 02 TA - check out theses mods
What do you guys think 2002 with 15k on it only. Has not been driven since the mods. A4 with stock tranny and rear, do you think these will be fine or do I need to upgrade. I also drive about 200 miles a week.
1-fast toys ram air
2-descreened MAF
3-7.4 Crane push rods
4-Shane 3 fast 90mm TB ported and polished
5-fats intaked manifold
6-3.73 gears
7-smooth bellows
8-double roller timing chain
9-subframe connectors of rear and front
10-160 stat
11-under drive and alternator pully with harmonic dampening just on crank
12-shift kit
13-ngk plugs
14-granetelli wires
15-emp stewart componets 140 gmp pump
This is were I need you guy at, I dont want a cam thats is choppy so what do you think about going with a LSA 113, 114 and what other specs.
2-exhaust - x pipe all the way back, over or under axle, do i do mandrel bent, true duals, bullet, hf cats or no cats, this is where I am stuck.
3-Torque convertor, 3200 or 3600, not sure
and last I I know I am going with Kook or QTP long tubes, but what size 1 7/8" or 1 3/4".
So let me know what you think.

Don't consider it to be very fast until you are pushing 500+RWHP
If you want a choppy idle you want a 112 but seeing how you drive an auto i'd go with a 114. Also if you get long tube headers you can't use the stock cats. You can buy a catted y pipe though. I'd just go without the cats and lt's. I rec.armor coated pace setters their the best bang for your buck. As far as the converter i can't help you, i drive a m6 so i don't have a clue.Last edited by sfletch2000; 05-21-2007 at 06:00 PM.

I'm making 407 rwhp with the 228/228, long tubes, lid, exhaust, underdrive pulley along with a dyno tune. So you should expect similar numbers.

i am fully aware of how fast they can be, ive beat some and lost to some.
what the dyno doesnt tell you is that the cobra is a heavy pig compared to the f-body.
04 cobras are something like 500 pounds more than a f-body.
thats 5 tenths at a drag strip that the cobra needs to make up.
there are plenty of 12 second cobras making 400 plus horsepower.

thats a pretty dumb statement.
also dumb, and....
relevance?
i suppose the 03 cobra is the yard stick by which all f bodies should be measured...dumb.
to the OP, dont listen to this bullshit. its all about how well you hook and drive. you will be far into the 11s and contrary to popular belief....thats fast.

well yes 11's are fast but he stated "very fast t/a" i don't consider a car to be very fast until there its in at least the ten's. Shit my car is making good power and doesn't feel all that fast to me, very fast = scary fast and 11's def. don't scare me
did you feel like posting so you could break down everyone elses statements, fast is a matter of opinion

i dont see how that is dumb. Face the facts, cobras are fast cars. You know doodad, hes only got an intake pulley and i think an exhaust and hes running 11.80's. Now way ur getting into the 11's with an LS1 w/o H/C or nitrous. Hell cobras are faster than an LS1 in stock trim. I guess ur one of those ppl who will never confess to the fact cobras are fast. Youll be one of the guys always bashing ford.

you dont need heads and cam for an ls1 to run 11.80s. there are plenty of cam only ls1s ( with supporting mods) that run mid 11s.
im hoping this weekend i can hit the track, i changed my tires out to some new DRs. ill be in the 11.90s if i can hook.
i have a mild cam, mild stall and im not even a full bolt on car.
cobras are fast, but can be beat.
doodad is in my area and im looking foward to catching up with him at the track on day.
