I would go full bold on before you do head/cam package. That way you will get the most out of it when you do get it. Get a lid, long tubes, pulleys, intake manifold, TB, etc.

Long tubes will give you a better top end. But i also herd some where that shorties are just a waste of money on LS1s. Cant remember where. Plus long tubes will sound sooo much more bad ass.

Shorties are a waste of money, your paying all that money to replace you stock shorties with aftermarket shorties that dont flow much better...Waste of money go with LTs

out of all the f body owners i know locally, i only know of one who ISNT using AFR heads and he said he bought the patriot stage 3 because he got them cheaper than AFR. Patriots are a good brand, possibly look into a similar chamber size in those....but to also concur with everyone else, AFR may be the best heads for the money! i

btw i enjoy reading your threads, you seem like a badass who is willing to go for broke in the name of speed. Keep it up man! Beauty of a car btw...

shorties are used if clearance is a huge pitfall, and that can be the only reason....mid tubes are at the very least what you should buy in the way of headers, but as you said, longtubes will yield the most gains throughout...

pacesetter lts are inexpensive and good quality, if i wanted to pay more i would buy kooks. heard nothing but good things....

Yes the AFR's are the way to go.Stay with the 66's unless you plan on BIG bottle or blower. We build many AFRs and if I was you I would buy them bare and have a local good race machine shop assemble them.
When you buy them complete you must remember they are assem. with profit in mind NOT all out performance.
Just to give you an example the spring pocket will have a shim under it.... We don't run ANY alum. head like that. We disassem. the new heads and cut the spring pocket for a spring cup. That way there is something to locate the spring from wearing into the head not to mention walking around on the base.
Don't be afraid of the bottle!!! Be afraid of your tune!!!

Thanks for the info man i think im gunna go with the AFR's but now i noticed on the thunder racing site that they have a 62cc chambers so now which on do i get 62-66 shit too many choices lol...

And thanks man i appriciate the compliment, i just love my speed and if i have the money to turn my car into a missle then you bet your ass i'm going to get the best performance money can buy with out having to sell blood to raise extra cash lolol (i probably would go broke in the name of speed and adrenaline hehe) but my car is everything, means more then my lady to me cuz it's always there when i need it, never talks back, is always worth the money i put into it and will always give me a consistant wild ride lolol!!

Who ever assem. the heads can make the chamber what ever size you want.I could take that much off in 2 passes on the mill table. That 4cc is not going to make a huge difference.
The key to getting max power is to get the piston quench area correct. With the right thickness headgasket for your combo.
Depending on what cam you run will also determine what gas you'll be able to get away with. A cam with big overlap "bleeds" off cyclinder pressure at low rpm thats how you can get away with running high comp. on pump gas.

I understand that i just dont wanna spend un nessary money on milling when i could get the right size chambers for my cam right from the factory... My cam is a TR 232/242 595./602. 112LSA so for that cam i guess the 66cc chambers would be best?

you want smaller chambers to raise compression.
