that's what he always does. he also said on television that it's not about Imus it's about getting government to regulate what can and can not be said on television and radio...basically any public airwaves. this claim crosses into socialism and even leans towards communism and is directly against the 1st Amendment rights that sharpton so "admirably" protects.

when faced with an issue such as this one (again), i think we must all ask the question, what does Al Sharpton really do?

the thing that bothers me about all of this is the way in which Sharpton and especially Jesse Jackson have exploited the memory of MLK and his accomplishments and ideas to further their own careers. They dont care about their people. Its a business to them. i give more of a fuck than Al Sharpton about his people. And these two leaders have absolutely soiled everything that their predecessor and idol preached for. MLK wanted a union, a brotherhood of men and women to live in peace. These two bastards have continuosly seperated themselves and their people to give the facade of racism.

now i know there are racists out there, but this country on the whole isnt at all unaccepting. its a double standard.
if a black kid does something wrong every attempt is made to by the black community to excuse his/her actions bc it was a result of oppression. if i do something im a horrible human being.

has Sharpton ever considered the possibility that those particulars gals might just be hoes with nappy hair?

he is the one crippling his people, not anyone else.

they are blowing this way out of proportion jus like the kramer incident and the million or so incidents prior to this. Al sharpton and jesse jackson create racism i think, it will neve stop if we dont stop focusing on it. Not that i think this incident was racist.

I think until they stop making Rap songs and "black" movies that use the terms it shouldnt matter at all if anyone else uses the same terms. Those singers/actors/comedians are no better than anyone else. Al and Jesse need to start there.

that's what bill cosby has said as of the past few years. he says that the popular black culture is self defeating and that it perpetuates the stereotypes that civil rights leaders have tried to eradicate.

it most certainly is. and i have gotten into countless arguements with fake thugs who say shit in incoherent language. all i say is i cant understand you and they call me a racist.
im not a racist at all. i have had alot of black friends who are respectful, cool, intelligent, and aware of history. i dont refer to black people who speak well as white or oreo either, because thats just stupid and doesnt make sense.

the problem i have that i cant understand why others (mostly black people) dont see is that they are being ruined by themselves.
the crime problems, the drop out rate, the violence, the stereotypes.
i know there are exceptions where some people just cannot relieve themselves of bad situations no matter how hard they fight, but the majority uses excuses.

it is the rapper and the media and the clothing companies who have taught young black america to glorify the ghetto and feel entitled to things they havent worked for. rappers are worshipped for their "poetry" and their struggle and many of them havent ever tasted the ghetto and all its trappings. they want money, so they exploit their own peoples' lives and then charge those same people to listen to their music. what happened to the positive reinforcement of heritage? a rapper elevates him/herself (assuming they actually did come from the ghetto) out of their confinements and then slowly sinks back into it by "representing". its a ridiculous concept. when you make nothing out of something, your past should be a reminder, a lamentation even of the life you rose above and it should also serve as a constant motivation to keep striving forward.

wow, my family is poor. i dont make a t shirt that says it and sag my pants and keep my hand out. its isnt just minorities, its people thinking they are entitled to shit just because.

old school hip hop was way more positive and had way broader subject matters than bitches and weed. i wouldnt call it music because that to me is instrumentation but it was special in that some of the artists were creative and intelligent.

how is that you have freedom of speech on anything...religion, press, speech...etc...and yet when it comes to expressing how you feel personally about a certain race of people (justified or not) you are suddenly wrong (for your own personal beliefs nonetheless!) and you must immediately be dealt with.
Freedom of speech is freedom from the government.

You go to jail if you deny the holocaust in Germany. That's lack of freedom of speech.

Why on earth would you think freedom of speech means people aren't allowed to get offended or upset over anything you say? That makes no sense.

i think what he means is... why do some get dealt with for saying what they want about other people while others dont harbor any blame.
there is a statute of limitations with everything, its mostly judgement calls. i dont understand imus' urge to vocalize that comment. most of america is easily offended when the camera's rolling anyway. there should be punishment for everyone thats offensive or no punishments at all for words. because they are just words.

its a shame that we as a nation must bite our tongues as opposed to being picketed and having our names slandered for saying how we feel.

but kinder words couldnt have hurt Imus. infact, total restraint would have worked too.

what i was getting at is that we have the freedom of speech. that entitles me to stand on the corner and say whatever i want. i can stand out there and say "the earth is flat and the universe revolves around the earth" or "the government created AIDS in order to get rid of people that they don't want." i can say whatever i want and not have fear that anything will come of it legally as that would be against my rights.

you can stand our there and spout off random things like that, but as soon as you say something that someone finds the least bit offensive they want to shut you up because it hurt their feelings. they want to stifle your freedom of speech.

i'm not saying that people are or are not allowed to get upset by what i say...by all means cry your eyes out and form a complex...or don't. point is is that just because someone else doesn't agree with what you say doesn't mean that you should be silenced. it was your right as an American citizen under the constitution to say whatever it is that you like.

Kramer had a right to say what he did in the niteclub and more power to him. tough shit if all these people and groups didn't like it...it was his right. Mel Gibson was within his rights to spout off whatever anti-Jewish (i don't like the word "anti-semitic" it only singles Jews out more) sentiments that he wanted to. and now this radio show host was within his legal rights to say whatever he wanted to on his show. that's his rights as well.

if people don't like it turn it off or don't listen.

    hope that cleared things up.
