Of course all we should think about is buying a car from the U.S. or Japan, in the grand scheme of things nothing else really matters.

Would being a Community College Federal Reserve Challenge National Champion count. Check the facts, I have.
I scuba dive. When I do I understand that there are sharks in the water. If I screw up they may eat me. I don't hate them, I do relieve that he is the alpha male, or female when I'm in his ocean.
At work or dealing with the Police, it's their ocean. In the ecomonic courses I've taken I learned that a well run business is like a living organism, and should be feared if you get between it and the bottom line. It wants to grow, reproduce, survive, and be the best at what it does. Now what does it do, condensed to it's base it makes money.
Unions offer a counter balance to the greed that naturally over takes the human element in business. A Union is the only true demacracy I have ever been part of. One person, one vote. For better or worse.
When I scuba, if I'm concerned about sharks I may carry a bang stick(basically a 12 gauge shell on the end of a metal rod). A Union is a bangstick if run well. Unions have always produced greater skills sets in it's work force and have raised the standards of the trades they represent. Without Unions there would be No OSHA, child labor laws, overtime pay....., It amazes me how much Hatred there is for Unions, why because they try to make My life better. The only other place that does that for me is Church.

they have good intentions, but some of their shit is rediculous, like a weight limit that construction workers can carry. i think its like 40lb at a time. WTF, some guys are 300lb and can carry 100 in one hand easily, but the unions gotta mandate how much HE can carry. also, its bullshit to have to report every injury on the job site whether it be a papercut, electrocution, anything.

good intentions, they just need to lay off a bit. it should be more about guidelines for workers, and more rules for employers

carry 100 pounds one too many times and in time youre back will be fucked, im a prime example. in the long run, lifting less weight will benifit the company and employee.
the reason why you have to report any injury is for insurance reasons. all companies want you to report injuries.

The truth is that you should never be required to carry too heavy a load. Union contracts insure that as you age you will not be put out to pasture as you age and begin to earn more, think Curcuit City and their recent staff trims that removed the overpaid top 10%. Over paid, at C City get real. If you could look at the ages of the fired I suggest that it would reflect the longest employed 10%.They are just one step ahead of Walmart. C City is the exact reason unions will come back.
