i dont even have the energy to bash Ford anymore. even though i have such a strong distaste for most of their cars, GM is my real concern.
i guess what im saying is, "How can they continually be so fucking stupid year after year?"
they really have let 4-5 years go by and let Ford corner the affordable 2+2 v8 section of the market. Mean while they spend so much money on shit that wont be marketable or sell in volume (can you say SSr).
i just want the new camaro to come out and soon.....

FYI....the Ford GT has an aluminum block vice the iron one in the GT500. Also, the GT has a screw-type blower, while the GT500 is a roots.

the more i read this the more pathetic i think mustangs are. I mean think, ford putta s/c on the cobra (which i have nothing against) just to compete with the camaro/firebird when they were already outta production....

i didnt know that about the gt but its the same basic block. i didnt think about it being aluminum. still dont get why they would put the iron block in the gt500 either.

They used the iron block(which is basically the 5.4 truck block)to save money. The aluminum block out of the GT is hella expensive.

It is certainly the same design, but there's ~100 lbs of difference. And as stated above....its all about $$$$$$.

i don't know what all the confusion is about. GM has always pulled MOST of the performance out of there cars where all you have to do is drive them. That's why you have the high compression GM V8's

on the other hand Ford has ALWAYS put out an under-achiever and allowed it's customers to "mod" their cars to pull more power out. And we have cars like the terminator that were rated below actual hp and still had MUCH MORE power to be produced.

It's been that way since the early 80's as far as i can remember.

anyone get to kill a GT500 yet? i made the guy go home crying... the first time i went heads up with him, and got him about 3 lanks, and the next time i left him have a head start with out him know it, and when i smacked 3rd, i was pulling past him just starring him down... then i tooted the horn, and he hit the brakes hard... never saw him since, my buddy that was video taping this, was laughing and told me he did a 180...

and please list your mods in the future if you ever want to be taken seriously about beating a faster car with a slower car.

I'm not really overly "brand loyal". I prefer Chevrolet and Ford; always have. They both have their pro's and cons and I enjoy reading up on bith while I'm at the Wal*Mart magazine section. I think these things are going to be the next "Terminators". (Despite their obesity problem) I can't remember which Ford magazine it was, but they talked about taking the Super Charger off and putting on a KB. The car makes over 800HP with this mod.

In another article, it showed them [the car mag people] do a pully swap (much like the terminators), exhaust, and a tune. The car was in the 11's.

I'm just going to wait until the stupid dealer mark-ups go down and their are more on the streets. When more of these things are out drivinig around, it will be the only real way to tell.

This guy is full of crap. However I do agree with the "driving has alot to do with it". I raced a Camaro SS in my 99 GT, I pulled on him hard 1st/2nd gear. 3rd Gear we evened out, and he started to pull on me. 4th Gear his ass flew by me. I was still happy that I put up that much of a fight though.

God I want a freaking LS1.....

Anyways.... Wheres this video? Your full of crap man. Also theres no such thing as GT500 Badges. Its just a Cobra Badge. Only thing it has it a Vinyl striping along the bottom that says GT500.

The GT 500 is slower than a 400 h.p. C6 Vette, but it least it's heavier and doesn't handle as well!
