notta fan of shelbys, roush, saleen, etc... but the only stang i like is the terminator. The new gt500 weighs about 4000+ lbs, but also has 500hp. For you to even come close to beating one, yet alone beating it the way u mentioned, you will need full bolt on plus a huge H/C setup and prehaps some spray. Either ur a 10 sec car, that was a v6 posing off (which shouldnt be a shock), or this never happened.

I'm questioning the weight of your car and your assertion (in another thread) that it came from the factory with LS6 heads.

GT500's are faster than Fbodys but not by much. Assuming the guy in the Shelby does not know how to drive his car and the guy in the camaro does, the camaro wins. I Beat a shelby last summer at the track by half a second because the Guy had just bought the car and didnt have enough practice.

idk about a fantasy....really they are not that much faster when the Fbody is modded....if they are mid 12 second cars then explain the bolt on Fbodys in the low 12's??....Without forced induction.....there was a guy here in missouri that ran his GT500 at the strip and the lowest i saw him run as a 12.7s-12.9s all day. and yes it was a real GT500

My point is that the GT500 in not as impressive as expected. You would think with 500hp you could get better than a 12.7 quarter-mile, must be all the extra weight.
