Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
Mornin'.
I was in ricer hell this morning. Every Honda with a fart can and a sphincter for a driver seemed to be in my A.O. on the way to work.
I conserved ammo.
Anybody up to answering these questions today? I didn't get a nibble yesterday.
Two questions:
#1 My M6 is putting down MAYBE 350 to the wheels (no dyno confirmation). I run the GM 16's with Kuhmo Esta 245-50's. When I am coming off the ramp onto the Interstate, I'm in second going about 2700-3000 rpm. If I gun it, I not only break the tires lose, I can smoke 'em before the "low trac" lights up. Is that normal? I'm NOT wanting to do it. Is it the tires, or is it just that strong? I'm talking about dry, clean, smooth, level pavement in a straight line.
#2 What is the maximum width tire I can have on the stock 16's? I'm probably gonna stay with same size for all four.
Thanks. Or do I need to go to another section to ask? I like "train" folks.Last edited by jad628; 01-31-2007 at 03:26 AM.

Jad why not try a set of Nittos 555Rs for dailys on the rear only? May help the traction issue and they aren't much more then a regular street tire

Thanks TAP. I take it they give good traction. The car is a daily driver except if there will be snow or ice. Then I drive my truck. Are they okay in rain?
If I go that route, I want the absolute widest tire that the stock Gm 16's will support without clearance issues. The car is no lowered. Anybody know that size?
