My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
Will our 4th gens be the "3rd gens" of 2009?
So when the new camaro comes out, do you guys thing that the 4th gens will be viewed like we view [disrespect] third gens?

No, the 4th gen are faster then 3rd ever wanted to be (stock) and most likely 4th gen will murder the heavy pig new ones. But I have been wrong before.

First off, I don't disrespect 3rd gens. I liked the IROC's and when I was in school that was the car to have. I do happen to think that if they do an LS2 with IRS like has been said the car won't be untouchable performance wise with the 4th gens. Maybe through the twisties but in a straight line I would imagine it would be somewhat close to the c5 z06's numbers which aren't really that hard to get with a 4th gen.

I agree, slash disagree. I don't think that a LS2 with IRS would stand a chance against a 4th gen. Not with the weight they intend to carry. Doesn't mean it won't be bad ass. I use to have a 82 Trans Am modded heavly. It doesn't stand a chance against my SS. But like I say...."there is always someone faster, it all matters who has the most cash.."

I'd like to think considering how technology keeps advancing it is highly likely the next generation Camaro/Trans Am (if they come back) will be able to beat our cars.
On a side note once I finish my third gen anyone care to wager a bet I can spank some of your 4th gens?

I really hope so, b/c then the price will drop on 4th gens and I can buy an SS for $3. In reality, I don't think it will have much effect. Nothing like the 3rd/4th gen relationship at least.

I really think GM is going to drop the ball here. I do not wish it to happen in the least, everyone knows they don't need another failure. I just can't see the new Camaro whooping on 4th gens. This also is not because I own one, if the new Camaro is a monster, most likely I will buy one and sell my car. BUT....I am not holding my breath.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
actually NO, i dont feel the 5th gen owners will look at 4th gen like we look at 3rd gen.
jaison, i know what you mean by the question. Yeah I like some 3rd gens, I owned an 87 transam GTA and it was a great car. However people in the masses associate mid 70s through 80s f-body with mullets, white trash, beaners and rednecks. I feel that is just a generation image, that will not plagued fourth gen f-bodys, but then again it also determine whose driving the car and how well the car has been maintained.
I believe some 5th gen owners will come off snobbie thinking their new camaro is faster but it I hightly doubt it will be. They will just need some schooling.
