    xbox 360 and hi-def question.

So ive got a new xbox360 and I have a television that just has the yello/white/red composite hookups in front, no s-video or component.

my question is, to get some higher-def graphics from this TV can i take my new dvd player wich has component, svideo, and HDMI and somehow get the xbox to play through the other dvd player and show up on the TV?

If the TV isn't equipped it won't matter what you put it through.

Dude, go back and just read what you posted and really think about what you said....

So your TV only has RCA input (red/white/yellow). Your X360 has component and HDMI output for HD graphics. Your DVD player has component and HDMI output as well.

So you are asking, can you some how hook up your X360 to play thru your DVD player since the HD outputs (component/HDMI) of the 360 are not compatible with your TV, yet you think that the component and HDMI outputs of your DVD player are somehow compatible with your TV?

westinghouses are good tv's once you get them calibrated, dunno about the best buy near you but the one that i work at currently has the 32" on sale for $699 which is definately a good price for it, going from rca to component will make the picture look tons better and from component to hdmi it will get better as well, not as much but still the picture gets better.

oh an um just a little figure i'll toss out there for ya, a samsung 26" lcd hdtv costs $1138.99 whereas a 37" westminghous lcd hdtv costs $1138.99 so westinghouse is definately an affordable tv with good quality.

was it the day after thanksgiving? because if it was then the 32" at our store was only $490 and we had like 50 of them and sold out before the store even opened, there was a line about 750 people deep by 3:00 am two hours before the store opened. if it wasnt tho the sale goes for a week normally and we get trucks with tons of stuff on em 5 days a week and westinghouse LCD's are on each of em

I was thinking about getting a new TV. I was planning on buying a PS3 some time in the future, and I wanted it to be worth it so I was looking for a tv that would make it look great, I found tvs with the options i wanted, looked at the price tag.... lets just say I'll be playing my playstation 2 on my 13" tube instead

You can find a good TV with 1080p for less than 1500. It just depends how big you want and honestly I can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p.

Yeah, but before doing research on it, I was planning on spending more on the PS3 itself prices haven't dropped as much as I thought they would have...

I meant buying a PS3 when it could be found easily in stores for $600 (I know, not for a while), and I meant the TVs price dropping.

    from what i'm told...
in games some times it gets choppy when the screen moves (not from the system being slow) but due to the screens slower refresh rate... the 1080P will always be smooth in that situation.
