At&t Sucks Donkey Balls
Order placed Sep 20th. Order confirmed Oct 3rd. Installer reported job complete Oct 23rd. Moved into new offices Friday Oct. 27th. No phone lines...no toll free numbers...no DSL....nothing. All dead. Panic calls to service center...." Oh this order was canceled by "somebody" Oct. 17th. WTF?!!!!
10,294 calls later....Senior Vice President Customer Service..." We made some mistakes with your order Sarge".....no shit ....ya think? Close of business today...we have 3 lines...no dsl....no toll free numbers.....best part.....we got a bill from AT&T in the mail today for like $600 bucks.....I shit you not...they said service had been cutover and billing began Oct. 17th. I call the 800 number and go through the entire thing with some idiot with obviously a 10lb lower lip....gonna charge me late fee's....gonna disconnect my service....I said look Buckwheat.....call the number you say has been "fully operational" since the 17th....so he puts my big ass on hold....comes back and sez....I got a recording saying this number is not in service....but I am in billing...you would have to call the service department.....we still have an outstanding balance on this accout that is due by Nov 6th or you will have late fee's.....I ask to speak with his supervisor....oh boy....what a pleasure that mother fucker was....I went from a dumb sons a bitch with a 10lb lower lip to a hysterical bitch who could not speak three words of English....I ask her if she would pay for something she never recieved....she said she did not understand my question.....I said can I come over your place of business and show you a bill I got printed up that sez you owe me for consulting work I never did....would you pay me for it...yes or no? Well she doesnt want to argue and she will place a order for "refusal to pay" come the 17th.....I faxed the bill and a letter to the CEO of ATT.....he probably has a 20lb lower lip and a sombrero with lil dingle balls all around it.....with my luck.

Had similar Problems with Cell phones and AT&T, after talking to many idiots, and after I went 3 months w/o a bill, things finially got straitened out, now I just kind of have them hanging, because I signed a contract and they can't break it, just like I couldn't break the first one.
Well, if it makes you happy to know, I'm currently bending Cingular Over, after I bent AT&T over on the last contract, I get 1000 min free, with free night & weekends at 7pm, my bill on 2 cell phones is $54 TOTAL, and I won't switch till Cingular gives me a compareable deal.

I should get all butthurt right now about how you are flaming my company as a whole. then I should get all righteously indignant and demand, not through a PM, but instead through thinly veiled whining and crying about how you are flaming everyone who works for the phone company.

I fucking hate at&t also. They were my first wireless provider and used to bless me with large phone bills. My outgoing message would be this:
Hello youve reached my phone. I am not answering it because at&t thanked me with a HUGE fucking phone bill. If you would like to make a donation, leave a message.
Seriously, I said the exact message. I am with Nextel now. Theyre not cheap, but they are fair.

I work for AT&T and I have no Cellphone because I hate them.
I do phone work and totally understand they shit you are going through.
I would say Sorry, but it means nothing from me since I do not do the work that you are dealing with.
Yes, Parts of AT&T suck, just like every other company out there. And dealing with the HELP-LESS line sucks ass too.
Keep giving them shit and work with MOD on the escalation!
It will still get Pushed around and BS will be tossed your way.
Toss it right back!
Also, AT&T is now a name of a company that is really SBC.
Benefits are going down hill.

I share your pain Sarge, but with a local company called CTC. They use Cingular Wireless as the service, but bill under CTC. We made the mistake of trying them because they opened a store near my wife's family's business and we wanted to be "good neighbors". Sub-standard in everything except they are perfect at sending out a bill on time!!! Her cell got damaged and it was time for an upgrade anyway, so she went in to do so. Absolutely nothing in the way of assistance. Pissed her off, then it pissed me off. We went into a Cingular store and had the account changed back TO Cingular. Within TWO days CTC contacted us saying we were eligible for an UPGRADE!!!
Cingular told us we had fulfilled the payments with CTC. Next thing I know we had SIX lines on the bill (instead of three). The reason for that was something called a "gate(?)" or something and CTC would NOT release our original three numbers, so we had three additional "temporary" numbers assigned. Cingular got it corrected, but CTC was a big butt about it. CTC sent us bills, guess what? Not gonna pay 'em. Double billing. I tried to talk with them about it, but THEY refused saying that they can only discuss the bill with my wife since it is in her name (I love that ploy, especially since I pay the bill). I tell them this is my LAST call to resolve the matter, either talk to me or I am DONE dealing with you. They refused, I politely hung up.
Now we are getting calls with pissy little threats about turning us over to a collection agency. Whoop de do. Some temp agency making telemarketer-like calls does not exactly send shivers down my spine. Funny how NOW they will talk with me. Collection agency...what a damn joke. Going to ruin my credit rating they say....HA!!! A 784 is going to go into the basement because of a cell phone bill issue...yeah right.
They made the mistake of getting my wife on the phone last time. That was entertaining. God, I love it when she gets her dander up!!! Just awesome.
Phone companies, in general, seem to be the worst organizations to deal with about billing. I understand that they deal with a lot of dead-beats who intentionally are ripping 'em off of payments they owe. But when you pay for YEARS, never missing a payment, and when you talk with them they treat you like crap, they are getting what they deserve.

OK....Windstream ( formerly AllTell) had my toll free numbers up in 30 fucking minutes......local lines all straightened out....Road Runner will have cable Internet access in the morning.....fuck ATT.

Well....ATT had weeks and fucked it all up.....in one 24 hour period their competitors fixed everything....I now have fully functional Internet through the cable company....all my long distance and toll free numbers work through WindStream......I'm good and ATT can kiss my ass forever.
