Top 10 mods
What would ya'll think the top 10 bolt-on performance mods would be for an ls1?
I'd have to say (and I'm no expert):
1)Exhaust (get your shit sounding cool) $varies a lot
2)Intake/Filter (now free the other end) $250
3)SFC's $200
4)Headers $500
5)pulley
6)Tune (should be in conjunction w/ #4) $varies
7)Tires $1000-1500
8)Gears $300+
9)Wheels $varies, and isnt mandatory
10)Clutch (if it has lasted that long) $varies

This is how i would put it, not by what type of bolt on but catagory
Induction(Intake,Exhaust,Headers,Y-pipe)
Suspension(Sub Frame Connectors,Strut Tower Brace,LCA's(Lower Control Arms,PHR's(Pan Hard Rod)
Tuning(Chips(LS1 Edit or PCM 4 Less),Fan Control Switch,Air Temp,Thermostat,
As well as the minor things like rims and tires, as well as a ram air hood will help it breath easier.

I'd say the best bang/buck mod I've done so far was definitely a "Lou's short stick."
Like $50, and it made the car way more fun to drive. I can't say that for any other mod I've done.
Heads/cam and SFC are in the mail though......

If you're going to list the top 10, there's so many different combo's especially when you look at bolt on's. If you're going to list overall for overall performance, then you can easily subsidize a list. A good place to start would be to make your car breathe.
!) Lid
2) if you don't have an 02, LS6 manifold
3) ported stock throttle body
4) LT headers and a Y pipe
5) Cat Back
Next you have to get some traction, tires are an obvious thing so it's not in the list really
6) SFC's
7) LCA's
8) Panhard Rod
The next best mod which is a must before a power build up
9) 12 bolt Rearend
Then last
10) Clutch or a stall

I always vote for headers first of all, because they win in every regard. That make more power, they make more torque, they produce beter fuel economy, and they sound better.

Pewter- 2001 Camaro Z28 M6
top ten mods that should be installed in this order.
Subframe connectors
lower control arms
Rotors and pads
wider Tires and wheels
lid
flow through muffler and tips
headers and y-pipe
torque converter or short throw shifter.
heads
cam w/dyno tune.
and along the way do the freebie mods.
The reason for this order is you always build up from the ground first!! High HP is pointless if you cant grip or stop. I cant emphasis this enough, so many people build up an engine and bitch that they cant grip or handle, and that there drivetrain is breaking.
Just because suspension components dont effect your HP, doesnt mean they wont speed up your 1/4 mile times, because they will.
SFC really tighten up the car and give excellent lift/jacking support as opposed to using the frame.
Also its pointless to do a cam right away without a good intake and exhaust, you will more then likely choke out the stock heads. You will also choke out aftermarket heads with factory headers.
I would have included plugs and wires but then can be considered maintence.
