caps are annoying lol... people use the max HP because that is much easier to figure out on the chart than finding the area under the curve.... Integrals of non linear areas are just too hard for some people lol.

Roastem asked about the MS4, then you guys got caught up talking about the MS3, which is MUCH less cam. The MS4 has more duration than the MS3 and hidden lift numbers. I ran into a TSP guy at the gas pump (who was running the MS3) and he said the MS4 is in the .64x lift range. The two really aren't even comparable, the MS3 is a hell of a cam, but the MS4 is a BADD son of a bitch if you have the guts (and mods) to run such a big cam

Don't get the hot cam, you will regret it. There are much better cams out there.

The MS4 is built on the latest craze. Tight LSAs, high lift, minimal overlap and the best DCR you can get out of it. With such high lifts, they are using their PRC platinum springs, Im certain. With more comrpession, the more under the curve you'll get with this cam. This is not in a stock ls1. it would choke itself to death with the stock exhasut if that were the case.

With the MS4 specs you wouldnt have too much low end power right? 2300-6800 rpm power band, seems more like a drag cam than a street/strip cam to me. but still, 82+ HP at the flyweel is damn impressive! some guy here had the magic stick 3 in a 02 z06. but even with a professional tune the car would try to die at the stoplight but if he could get it to idle it sounded like a damn top fuel dragster! ive been wanting to get one ever since i saw the vette's dyno sheet but it doesnt seem like a real streetable cam to me. does anyone here have one in a daily driver?

the 3 is very streetable with a good tune. The TSP guy I talked to runs one daily in his SS. Saw him cold start it one day when it was in the 40s and he had to work with it for a few seconds than it ran fine from what I saw, and once it's warmed up and in decent weather it's no trouble at all. It's all in a good tune. If you can get it tuned good you shouldn't ever have trouble idling at stoplights etc

Daily Driver with MS3, yep got it. Did a Head and Cam swap, and it is a daily driver, runs just fine, till I dump the clutch or romp on it around 3700RPM Definetely jerks you back in the seat every gear. as for the MS4, yeah you will have to upgrade the valvetrain for sure, TSP has that covered with their PRC dual valve spring kit, which is what I have (good to .660 lift), and the cam is somewhere around the .647 intake lift/ .611 exhaust lift if I am not mistaken.

So all i would need to upgrade would be the valve train? Which would run better as a DD MS3 or MS4?

MS3 is a little rough for DD, but it works. And its nice at the track...
cause you know street racing is illegal, so I wouldn't be able to say how it runs on the highway and all....

The MS4 I would have to say will be rougher as a DD. Don't count out the Torquer 2 if you purchase from TSP, that is a more streetable cam and it is a very nice size cam.
