update
ok guys,,, i got more info here... after a while driving the car with the temp/comp/auto dim mirror... i noticed few issues,,,
ok first... i originally places the temp sensor behind the drivers side headlight,
thats a good place for it, but the problem is. when the car is on the sun for long time, it reads some crazy temperature, after few seconds driving goes back to normal, another ploblem with having it there was, when the car is stopped and the motor running the fan turns on and blow hot air to the sensor, so tha makes it read high temperature on the mirror, again after few secs the car running goes back to normal, but i dont like that, so what i did was relocate to the sensor to the front of the car,
its place infront of the ac condenser.. . heres a pic to have an idea...
after i placed it here.. i had no issues.. so if you guys dont wanna deal with that having it behind the headlight, this is a good place to install it.. .Last edited by 98maro; 09-14-2011 at 10:52 PM.

another thing... when i got my mirror at the junk yard i noticed a small plastic box with a sensor inside the box.. i did not pay attention to it but i took it case i need it.. after i installed it everything worked fine, but after few days driving it the compass feature stopped working, i plugged in the little box or the sensor. it worked again. so that is the sensor for the compass.. not all this mirrors have them some are already build inside the mirror..heres a pic.
also i said it does not need to be calibrated, well after driving it, i noticed calibration must be done.. or it will read wrong on the compass..
to calibrate it
you have to hold the comp button 6 to 10 seconds and a number will come up... you will have to put the number according to your location.
it goes from 1-15 i belive, after you pressed the temp button a "c" or "cal" should come up and thats when you push it again till the number you need comes up, i think most of the are set on 8 for some reason,
once you place the number where you are located you drive your car on a circle under 5-10 miles an hour. that should work, if it doesnt. after driving the car after a while should go back to normal..
heres a pic so you have an idea how it works

I am interested in doing this mod. I want to bring the WS6 up to date with everything else on the road. Is there any updates from anyone on a mirror that has the map lights as well? Hate to lose them to get a temp and compass reading. May be worth it, but I would like to keep them.
