Took the Camaro out for dinner this evening. Charging system is still wonky and worked its way back up to 16 volts on the highway. I am going to pop the cover on the voltage regulator to see if my soldering held up. If so, looks like I will be swapping regulators.

Anyone have any idea how much of a low profile jack you need to get under a c5? Found one that has a min height of 3.5" but idk if that is low enough.

the problem with low profile jacks I've found is that they all become regular profile before I get far enough under the car to actually do anything. there's actually a low profile Jack at harbor freight that has some length to it, but harbor freight...

Harbor Freight Aluminum jack for I think on sale is around $59 works just fine. You will need or should get the aluminum puck that goes in the bottom to jack from. They turn in and can be moved to another location so you really only need one. I can jack and put 3 stands under my buddies from one spot right behind left front wheel. Extremely stiff chassis.
Had my car out to work today and then out for dinner, wife has been bugging to drive it so I broke down. She always does well shifting scared me a bit when she started getting on it around a turn just after pulling out. Then hit a little stone ( claims she couldn't see it over the hood! Probably true) that hit the under side hard. So told her don't ask at least until next year....

Nope this is all 1.5 Ton Compact Aluminum Racing Floor Jack with Rapid PumpĀ®
I would probably go with a higher ton one though cause after 4 yrs and lifting countless vehicles she's slowing a bit. Light as a feather though

I have one of the small Harbor Freight aluminum jacks at the Beaver house and it has worked great. The original plan was to use it in the trailer, but then I realized I would need something larger in case I blew a trailer tire while hauling a car.

Yea I've used the crap out of mine, for what I need the 1.5 ton is enough, that's 3,000lbs of lifting each corner is less than 1,000lbs on most all vehicles. On the T/A I lift the front first under the K-member then the rear under the center section with no effort what so ever and it's super light to move around. It's a good buy IMO
Oil change and some waxing in store before heading to some oval racing tonight.

Went shooting this morning. Touched off a .50 Flintlock and an SKS that my brother brought out to play. First time I had ever shot a Flintlock... pretty neat actually.

My Harbor Freight low profile (orange in color) has lasted 6 yrs now. It's the only on I found that clears my bird but also lift's 29" where most avg 24-26". Also has a wide pedestal helps when dropping the transmission.

Took a ride in the Suburban this afternoon to pick up a new kayak some friends purchased. After that I mowed and trimmed up at the building and then had a later dinner. Probably heading into the office in the a.m. for a while.

Had a great time at the track tonight. It was packed house, there was a traveling series there along with the weekly regulars. Racing was close and a few crashes. Tickets were free, met a guy the other day and he gave me 10 tickets. Took my daughter and her friend they loved it..my nephew and a few others joined us it was a good time.
