now that's the tire you put on a high HP car......355/30/19. Roughly 3" wider than what's on the hellcat.
pirelli p zero in that size is about an $800 tire

Depending on what GM does over the next year, I very well may. For the price tag that these cars go for, I'm not going to throw my money away. Pobst ripped that car apart and Chevrolet has made some pretty big claims that it's going to have to live up to. I'm not Corvette hating. Every new model has issues that need to be worked out. However, I haven't seen a car take a beating like his right out the gates in a long while. Not even the Viper. It's getting its ass kicked by almost everything. Seeing CF in mass hysteria is pretty funny though...

That's the reason I will never spend that kind of money on a car. Always some tweak or better redesign etc within a year or two and you'll wish you had waited

As I stated in the other thread. If everyone left their car stock, then I'd be concerned. The ZO6 getting "it's ass kicked", or the comment of "I'm not going to throw my money away" really doesn't hold much water. (sorry cam02) The other element is this: how many of us are going to race any of the cars mentioned(ZO6, Viper, GTR, etc) competitively and race for money - or even attempt to make a name for ourselves in the racing world? Especially throwing your own money away. If any of us were that good, our sponsors of the car could throw their money away on the car for us, and our pocket books wouldn't have to worry about it.
I believe that there are plenty of modified ZR1's, Vipers & GTR's out there that that will lay the smack down on any production car made, and will for a long time.
'89 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car (Mom's car now)
'68 Camaro - 572 coming soon
'67 Nova - 406 SBC, PG
'10 ZR1

I will rephrase that, however I stand by my original statement. I am not going to spend money on a first year model car that will be revised to get rid of the multitude of problems that it has. Over heating, computer pulling power, transmission popping out of gear. All those are repeat issues being mentioned over on CF. I'd rather wait for the bugs to be worked out than have to deal with warranty claims. Secondly, when the C6 Z06 and C6 ZR1 came out, they immediately dominated both on the track, and street in stock form. They were game changers. This car is not. All of the hype behind it, and then the reality of what happened when the car was introduced is night and day compaired to the aforementioned.
Your last statement hits the nail on the head. LMR heavily modified the ZR1. If I end up with a Z06 I will have them modify that as well. I believe their stage III package/nitrous C7 Z06 just put down well over 900 hp. Same for the Viper. Click the "Viper Accessories" link at the top of this page and you'll see a 900 hp package coming next year for the gen V. Either way, I'll end up with a modified car.Last edited by cam02ss; 02-11-2015 at 07:03 AM.

I believe I said something along the lines of not buying a first year car in your initial thread when you placed your ZO6 order. At least I thought I did? Who-TF knows, I'm getting old
And, I knew you'd end up with a modified car, no questions about it.
Oh, and back to the C6 being a game changer - I agree. The difference now is that everyone else (Viper, GTR, etc) has caught up, and the ZO6 isn't a game changer because of that. Technology leads us forward - and I like that.

I had an '07 ZO6 before this car. I really did love it. Mostly, I love the sound of that 427
To me, it's the best sound I've heard from a N/A engine......and I've always been a big block Chevrolet guy. My '68 sounds great.........but that LS7 sounds just a little bit better.
