Of all the ridiculous faux scandals that the media keeps reporting on, this is one that probably didn't get the attention it deserved. The NSA is out of fucking control and needs some big time oversight changes.

I am on the fence about Snowden as well...part of me is mad because the guy gave away some pretty serious secrets to some of our biggest enemies but at the same time he exposed the NSA and showed the world "and US citizens" how out of control they really are.

This. He went about it the worst way possible. You don't go to our enemies. That's treason and put a lot of people and this country in danger. But then again, can you really trust going through the proper channels and not end up Breitbarted, thrown in a black hole or something just as sinister or life ruining? Going to government agencies to report evil doings of other government agencies, well...
