10's from any stock vehicle are mighty impressive.

I remember when the automotive press was flabbergasted that the C5 ran the same low 13/high 12 1/4 times as the early 90's ZR1.

It's relatively easy to get a 13 second car into the 12's, but going from the 12's to the 11's or the 10's is usually an exponential $$$ climb.

I do like this, I also want to see the C7 Z06 in person. GM states that it was immediately faster around the track than the ZR1. 5.0, I want to try a different vehicle. We all know that you think the new Viper is "underwhelming". We also know it's not as fast as the new Z06. I don't care, I already have two fast cars. I have three options- 1) buy the Viper and try something new 2) Buy the new Z06 next year or 3) wait and see if they introduce a C7 ZR1. The Viper is salty- with 6% sales tax it came in at $168,000 for a GTS loaded with the options I want.

The Viper is a great performance car no doubt, and the look is awesome. My only point was that I wished Dodge had set their sights a little higher than just barely beating the outgoing corvette. Most of the Viper community seemed a little underwhelmed from what I've read

They are. Here are a few of their comments...

Corvette gets 650 torque. We get a new color. Yaaaa

Would be nice if they focused on not getting our asses handed to us by Chevy rather than worry about a new color

At least we'll get a bright exclusive colour that will make it easier for the corvette owners to distinguish which car in their rear view mirror is the viper.

To compete with the Corvette's, the Viper is going to have to go boosted, hopefully sooner than later. I do like the color.

I agree. They need to just go to a boosted hemi. The viper guys just need to get over the loss of their beloved v10.
