    Sig P556

Anybody on here got one of these...? I've been thinking about building an AR pistol but one of my buddies that works at a gun shop mentioned the P556 "I had never heard of it". They look really nice...and pretty damn cool too. Im thinking a nice red dot and some 30round mags would be PERFECT for this thing...

The problems with AR15 pistols is the buffer springs have issues over time.

    It is interesting....

I have shot a few sig 556s never the pistol though. They are good guns but they are not the same platform as the AR15s. That means the parts cannot be swapped. But if you do not care about that then they are good guns.

That being said I have never shot one that was as accurate as my AR15. Could just be me though. I do not like the stock sig triggers.

I've got an AR that I built...this is more of a toy than anything and I wouldnt be swapping parts in this one...only thing I would change is the addition of a red dot.

The sig piston guns are reliable and nice as toys. Most people would agree though that a well built AR is almost always more accurate based on the design. But seeing as it is a AR pistol you are probably not going for top notch accuracy lol. I am sure it will be fun though.

I would never expect this thing to be as accurate as my rifle...but the fact that it is considered a "pistol" is awesome in my opinion...im still researching the pro's and con's of this specific model. I havent found a whole lot of cons yet...

Almost bought one, but the store sold out of them in hours. I had to settle for a M400 version of the AR Pistol.

I meant if you compare a good AR to the full size 556. Most people agree that the 556s aren't as accurate. This probably translates somewhat into pistol sizes as they are still the same basic design. I have heard people and owners say the 556 feels more like shooting an AK chambered in 5.56/.223 than it does an AR because of the design which results in similar recoil and more front end weight.

I looked at those too...the arm brace looks a little weird to me.

I don't mind it. I just swapped out the 11.5" DI upper for a 7.5" piston upper.

dang dude...you've got some money wrapped up in that little sucker! Are you able to shoot it like a rifle minus putting it against your shoulder or can you only do it like a pistol?

I shoot like a rifle. I tried using the brace, I can't see the sights, unless I turn it sideways.

I would mount that red dot as far out as I could.

That would make a sweet coyote calling rifle. How accurate is it?

Will have to test it out further. Longest range is 25 yards. But at 7 yards it's not bad.
