I think that's correct - but isn't it the exact same frame, other than the material of construction? ZO6 = aluminum frame, 60th Anniversary = steel frame?

On any road course, it doesn't need anything to be faster.

No idea, you would think it would have to be close since the suspension, powertrain and many of the body panels are the same.

Much as I like the GT500, I'd take the Stingray over it without a second thought.

Though honestly, I would take neither.

If I were considering spending that much on a car, I would just save a bit longer and get a GT-R.

You can spend 100k on a Nissan and you know what you still have at the end of the day?....

Lets not get ignorant, the GTR is one hell of a car. I am willing to bet there are tracks it would beat the vette around.

I'm interested to see what Chevy will bring out over the next couple of years after the Viper TA taking the #1 spot at Laguna.

And the Nissan I had was light years more refined than the Camaro SS I had.

If the rest of my Camaro had been as good as the engine, I'd still have it. Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Anyone else wonder what the results would be on a Mustang forum? I imagine they would be heavy for the GT500 then the Vettes.

So my point is why ask this question on a GM forum and be shocked by the overwhelming support for a GM product.

True, a nissan is a nissan but to me that is not a bad thing. Nissan isn't the same as honda to me though. Nissan has been making RWD sporty cars since the 60s with the GTR and Datsun Z cars.

Yep, the 60s/70s GTRs were pretty ugly but I always thought the datsuns looked pretty cool.

When I was 13 or 14 my uncle had one and took me for a ride in his 280Z. Drifting in was fun as hell!!!

I live in Bowling Green. They are already driving the Stingrays around here. Sadly, I have to confirm, they are ugly. The front 3/4 view is OK, and is actually pretty cool. But the rear is... ugh. Someone needs to be punched in the face for designing that. I'd take the GT500 based on looks.

Tony Stewart smokes the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray | Fox News

    Video inside

Why do these #'s seem too small?
    Zero-60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

    Quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds.

That courtesy of its all-new 460 hp 6.2-liter V8 and seven-speed manual transmission.

The 3.8 0-60 is actually a decent time for a RWD car with only 460hp. The earlier Zondas were only 3.8 and 3.7 0-60 with 550-600hp. The ferrari f430 did 0-60 in 3.8 seconds as well with 480hp and ferrari tech which makes it easier to launch than a big v8 stick car.

The 12.2 is on the slow side though. Remember though this was off of a stop watch on a piece of road or test track not a drag track. Why do we need more than 6 speeds in a manual trans? In 20 years corvette will have mini semi trans with 21 gears. It could also be the gearing that made the quarter mile time a bit slower. If the driver had to do an extra shift, I believe in the zr1 the top speed in 3rd is 130mph and that is enough to get a stock car across the line in 1/4 mile. Maybe the new 7 speed needs to go to 4th or 5th to hit those speeds?
