    Fine Art Thread/Discussion

I was the Detroit Institute of Art a few weeks ago and I seen a ton of nice pieces.

But this version of the Last supper by benjamin west took the cake.......seriously considering picking this up. It was a very powerful piece. Thinking of going with a six foot long version of this.....

Anybody use Oil Painting Reproductions | 1st-Art-Gallery.com for art before?

Anyway here's the piece.......... BTW any other art lovers here?

I like art, but not really religious art. I like metal artwork / sculpture. Paintings as well, tropical themed mostly.

Fine Art thread in a car forum.....

Most of our member's definition of "fine art" are of the female sex or of automotive sports/super car variety.

Some of the members here can't finger paint with water color's let alone stay in the lines......

I gather that the origination of this thread has to do with Detroit's bankruptcy and that the city is considering liquidating it's multi-billion dollar art collection...

If you want it, like it and can afford it then this would be the time to pick up some deals (such as it is)...

Dawn and I like checking out art museums and such. She would be more into the Monet style and I like lots of different stuff. My father is an artist and taught sculpture and jewelry at the University here for 30 plus years. I never took his class, sadly. Always told him I didn't want to blow my GPA with a crappy grade.

Andy or Vincent for that matter. I know they are works of art, just not for me.

Where's does the classic and coveted Velvet Elvis fit in here?

Sorry, but asking for opinions on fine art on a musclecar forum strikes me as akin to asking for quiche recipes.

Sure, there will be some here, but the pool of aficionados will be shallow.
