confusing headlight motor issue
i have a 2000 t/a and when i cut on my lights one goes up and the other one stays down but when cut them off the other one goes up
anyone know what it could b?

Have either of the motors been replaced, or the wiring redone? Sounds like the wiring is reversed.

I think your lever arm on one of them has been installed wrong. Take the nut off the shaft on the one that's acting weird, rotate the motor manually till you can get it back in on the slot with the arm in the position it "should" be in; mirror the other side, and put it back on. Hope that works.
The reason I'm assuming this is because the system doesn't have any feedback. It just keeps the power on to the direction it needs for a certain amount of time. So when the motor reaches its stop; mechanical stop of the lever arm, it just keeps powering till the timer runs out. One of the main reasons for failed gears. So it doesnt care if it's working backwards or forwards or if it rotates on the other side of the mechanical stops ... it'll still power the motor for that duration.Last edited by Mean Green Z28; 07-25-2012 at 07:22 PM.
