Just got home from Zach's. We took a late ride up to check out his new car. Very cool -- can't wait to go for a ride in it!

Hey Jeff some 22's or even 20's look good as long as you have a nice tire with some sidewall to go with them, I hated how the stock rims made my Avalanche look huge and the wheels tiny.
Then again its probably my age speaking

I've been window shopping for my LQ4 build later this yr and I've come to the conclusion that it's cheaper to build a LQ4/9 then it is a LS1.

Here are some comparisons:
Intakes:
LS3/L76 Intake: $280 new
LS6 Intake: Cost me $300 used
FAST 102 (LS1 style) - $1500
FAST 102 (LS3/L92 style) - $998
Heads
New 243 - CNC Stage 2 - $ about 1800
Used 243's Stock - $ 600-1200 depending on if any spring/valve upgrades
L92 - stock - $600 New (Getting a CNC Stage 2 port/polish will bring it up to about $1600)

Thats exactly why when that last motor screwed up that I went ahead with the 6.0 build. It was just cheaper.

Jodi, so far I'm thinking about getting LS2 Pistons, LS6 P&P Oil pump, L92 heads, LS3 or L76 Intake (till I can afford a FAST 102), CAM - not sure yet, with the LS1 I want a MS3/4 with 243 heads but with this one not sure if the MS3/4 would be a good choice with the L92 heads. I want something that thumps while being NA but will work with a possible FI build in a couple of years.

I'm still debating the l92 heads. Couldn't find any at the time so went with mine all redone. I'm starting to also debate whether my 228r cam is to small. But I'm out of money, so I'm stuck with what I got. But I shot of nitrous maybe won't be so bad.

From what I read about L92 heads is that even without P&P the flow very well. I have a couple of articles talking about them that show with a stock LQ4 bottom with the L92 heads and a L76 intake it produce some serious HP numbers. With the GM Hotcam 480 HP and with a GM Showroom Stock (racing cam) 540. They even got around the same numbers with a Carb and MSD ICM.
I'm fairly sure they left some secrets out but that is still up there.

Yes you have to go with a LS3 or L76 intake or a FAST 102 that is set up for LS3/L76 intakes.
