India *semi-graphic pics*
I'm not really sure what to say about these pics...apparently a chinese tourist took them. I know it's common knowledge that India is modern in parts and almost 3rd world in others but this is just ridiculous. There's human and cow remains floating in the Ganges river and people bath, brush their teeth and drink the water!! There's bodies everywhere...on shore, floating within feet of these people, laying in the street, cremations going on by the shore.
Even though our cultures are different (I can get past the wiping your cornhole with your fingers thing) there's just no excuse for human bodies of all ages floating down the river and being eaten by dogs. WTF is going on over there? I get that they're poor and can't afford wood to burn the bodies but how about a shovel...seriously. Are they just so damn lazy they can't spend a few hours to bury their loved ones so they dump them in the river?
And to think these people have nuclear weapons..unfucking believeable. Questions..comments...concerns? Anyway here's the link

There's a reason why deformities and cleft palates in children are so common over there. The country is vastly overpopulated and many of the people can't grasp the basic concept of improving the human condition.

Wow it totally changed the way I see India. Although I knew how poor some people are. but still drinking and bathing on that water. I guess they are use to it.

Another thing I thought about when looking at the pics is who's to say some of those people weren't murdered? With all the bodies laying around you could kill someone and toss them in the river. Who would know? It's not like they're going to DNA test 100's of rotting corpses...their senses are so dulled no one would even notice. I just can't see how a society can even function like that.
I'm never going to see the show Outsourced the same way again

someone from china calling your country filthy is like someone from Alabama calling you a redneck.
Favorite reply at the bottom:
Actually, this is exactly how America does it, using violence to beat the Indians [Native Americans] to death, pushing the Asian, African, and poor out into the country, running the poor white people into the surrounding outskirts of the cities. America’s police are even more terrible than China’s chengguan. If you’re within two meters of a police officer, you have to raise your hands, otherwise American police have the right to shoot you dead.

I just love when people whom likely have'nt been to this country always seem to be the same whom seem to "know" about the US.
There's a recent documentary out that talks about the European view of America,
which is mostly bad due to their own governments and media outlets that produce nothing but negative light about Americans/USA.
It's sickening.. and they think it's funny most times.. Portray our service men and women as over weight, ignorant, and lazy.
In the comment sections of youtube it can be 1000x worse... PISSES me off!Last edited by Smittro; 05-03-2012 at 05:06 AM.

I had to go to India on business about12 years ago and this is the way of life over there. They try to keep westerners away from some of the worst area's but the entire country is like this. I could spend all day telling India stories but to sum it up I was sitting next to an Englishman on my flight home and he said " First time to India ? Right bloody shithole ain't it ? " Nuff said. And this is the country taking American jobs ?

you can't tell how bad someone stinks over the phone...I was in Iraq and met people from all over that region who had contracted to come into a war zone with companies like haliburton and others, they didn't mind the $hit smell and they were used to getting shot at. They can play russian roulette with China using their nukes for all I care. we need more giant parking lots in this world more than regions like this. no wonder the aliens won't talk to us.
I'm off my soapbox now.

They seem to have a barbaric indifference to death. And disease and infection as well. Not for me. I would die of dehydration first, actually my own warm piss would be more inviting to drink than water from that river. Holy shit.

I honestly think rather than a barbaric indifference to death, it's more like a cultural or religious stance on death. Cows are sacred in India and who knows, perhaps they feel the same for their dead and with that in mind, they don't take issue with bathing in the same water as where the corpses of their sacred dead reside. They don't bother to see the health consequences of such an action, as the religious/cultural reasons far outweigh anything else. We look at it as a disgusting third world way of life, but to them it's anything but.

I know China isn't nearly as bad as this, but being I was there twice now I saw some pretty disturbing things.
