Body Control Module - Repairing Bad Solder Joints
I don't have a clue as what it could except maybe a security issue, possibly with the chip on the key? So back to the problem. When the car is running or not , the radio shuts off and the windows stop working. Sometimes when i shut the car off i hear what sounds like the driver's side head light motor running. The only way that seems to get the radio on and the windows to work it to hit the unlock button on the door. Once that the unlock is hit it works again sometimes for the rest of the trip sometimes it acts up right away. Does anyone have a clue what would cause this to happen?

The BCM sticky thread was taken down due to the original poster had deleted or removed the photo's within the thread.
OP - Your BCM is located just under the glove box. You will need to remove the skirt panel that runs along the floor board and also the kick plate.
It is black in color and has a wire harness connected to it. I believe the harness is blue maybe yellow? It's been a yr since I last pulled one.
I hope another member has a pic of it and will post.
What they are referring to about the soldering - is that on the circuit board there are 3 spots that you have to re-solder the connections to. Over time the factory solder becomes brittle and cracks thus making the BCM act up.
If you try to replace get ready for some serious sticker shock and it also has to be programed at the dealership for your VIN # in order to work.

1. remove under dash kick panel on the passenger side, beneath the glove box.
2. look up under the dash you will see a baby blue, black, and green set of harness plugs.
Which are attached to a small black box located between the back of the glove box and the HVAC blower motor.
3. reach up and take hold of the BCM or black box and pull it strait down from its craddle that it just clips into.
BCM
Unplug the module and carefully open it up.. Once opened carefully remove the curcuit board avoiding touch it as much as possible.
Best to handle from the edges as much as you can help..
Using a soldering gun or pen type iron resolder these larger 5 pins:
After,, replace and reinstall the module.
Over time if left in an intermittent state the malfunctioning BCM can cause the wiper pulse board to fry or even damage the wiper drive.Last edited by Smittro; 04-30-2012 at 04:55 PM.
