ain't that the fuckin truth. used car lot here in town has 3 camaro's on the lot...all overpriced. i won't bore you with the details on the '11 yellow v6 vert or the '11 blue ss vert except to say that they each have about 10k miles on them and she wants sticker price.
the real gem is the '02 ss. 8k miles, tan interior (puke), auto (crap), chrome rims, listing it as a 35th anniversary edition which it kinda is but isn't (only is since it's an '02 but it's not the special edition), and it's navy blue. crazy broad wants $20k for it. lists out in my area for $13k. bitch...is...nuts. again...a case of what someone will ask for something and what some dope is willing to pay.

Sorry, my Z28 was 40k miles less and I am willing to bet IN MUCH better shape and I couldnt give it away.
What most people think is "mint" to me is a piece of shit. Most people dont know what a "mint" car is yet they say it all the time.

Guy #1 "It has the LS1 in it."

Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
No offense, but I think ranges above $9500 are too high. I have a 1999 Hugger Orange M6 T-top with SS functional hood, SS spoiler.
My car was purchased in 2006 for $6500 with 66,000 miles on it. Clear coat was bad, headliner needed replacement, and the car was a salvaged title (car totalled within a year of being made).
It currently has 121,000 on it. Repainted (and stripes are painted too), car has leather, SLP mats, torque arm, SLP lid, aftermarket exhaust, grille, S&D rotors/ceramic pads/painted calipers, aftermarket headlights, various little upgrades, and some other common mods. Currently I'm having a LS7 clutch kit, Tick adjustable master cylinder and speed bleed, GM slave, Eibach ProKit springs, KYB AGX shocks/struts, adj. pan hard, and a few other little things done. Several grand of upgrades as we converse.
While I know you are saying it is mint (as in original), comparing it side-by-side with mine (granted, I know it's a reliable car), I would likely let my car go for around $8500 and it will be 100% reliable and sound. My feeling is that the somewhat rare HO color (only in '99), can't really justify some of the amounts suggested. There might be someone out there with a specific desire to obtain a copy like yours, but I'd bet they are even more rare than the color.
In any event, good luck.

And I wouldn't blame you. Still, until that little tidbit of info is mentioned, I get some pretty complimentary remarks about the car and how they have never seen one like it. Having actually driven it for 6 years and nearly 60,000 miles kinda negates the fear of a salvaged title in my book. I also had a little historical data about the title. The same adjuster who totaled the car turned around and bought it. I bought it from him.

The car looks good, no doubt. But if you ever do sell the car it will lower the price below what the same car, same condition with a clean title would be.

Yeah, that's the conventional wisdom and I understand it. In my particular case, I never make these kind of purchases with resale in mind. I look at factors that make the basic purchase price reasonable knowing what other costs will be incurred. I carefully checked out (and had checked out) the car for structural integrity and found that it was a sound chassis. Time has proven that to be true. An initial risk, but then again, I could buy a "flawless" one and soon find out that someone over-rev'ed it and it is about to have little pieces of metal misbehaving in the heads and block.

Very true and I am not saying I would not buy a salvage title vehicle. You can get some great deals doing that, you just have to do your research to ensure you wont get screwed. The value will never be there in a vehicle with a salvage title but that doesnt mean the good times won't be.

Very shady IMHO! Car looks great though Jad!
I know even with my mods to my car and how it has been maintained to the T......I'll never get full price because it was wrecked. It wasn't totalled or salvaged by any means but as soon as an accident happens, the value drops pretty decent

A bank wont give the same loan for an R title car vs one that isnt.

I never even met the guy (selling through a friend of mine who is an independent car dealer). I was allowed to drive it for three days to evaluate it. Guy was asking for $9K, I offered $6K on the phone. He was somewhere in the middle of the country and said he needed to pull over and think about it. About a half hour later, he called me back and said $7K, I countered with $6500 final offer. He took it. Paid the dealer with a personal check.
Never looked at it like an investment to make money. In my opinion, that is a RARE thing with cars and even rarer for cars that don't cost $10K. Buy it, drive it, enjoy it.
