If that effort was to overcome a fear your had, I congratulate you. I've always liked a quote from John Wayne, "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway". Kudos to each and every person who finds that kind of courage.
Now, a word of caution (if you'll permit me). Don't let challenges from others guide your decision-making process. I'm saying that because I have seen too many bad results from those types of "challenges".
Live a long time with your head held high. That's the best "man up" of all.

It reminds me of the time I made my son go on the Superman ride at Magic Mountain. He, like myself, loves roller-coasters. But, Super man is more of a very tall, forty story tower, that shoots straight down and hits up to 100 mph. The closer we got in line, the more he didn't want to do it. I'm guessing he was around 10 at the time. Took me the last 15 minutes in line to talk him into it and he wasn't happy about it at all. But, as I predicted... as soon as it was over, we were back in line to do it again! He loved it as I knew he would
