I agree that it would be at the top of most peoples' lists, but I've done so much to my car (nothing is stock anymore) that the MC didn't even cross my mind.

Worked my ass off since high school...I worked two full-time jobs for almost five years while going to college, then when I graduated I got a job that paid more than what the two jobs paid combined. I knew I wanted a LS1 Trans Am, and I worked towards it, bought it with cash in November 2007, and started modding it from there.

Had the car for over 4 years now, so not everything was done at once...built it up to what it is now.

Here is a link to the showcase of my car for my local car club...mod list and a ton of pics:

I would definitely agree with R&R the clutch/ bell housing and T56 trans. The T56 is bigger and heavier than a Muncie or a Saginaw. I did a swap for my original LS1 with a new LS6/ T56 last summer. I've got 6K miles on the car now. I procrastinated on the project for a long time. When I finally started making progress I kept at it and I'm glad I did 'cause now I'm reaping the enjoyment of driving my car. R&R the engine block is the easiest part of the whole project. Once everything is disconnected you can remove and/ or install the engine block inside a span of 30 minutes easy. I had plenty of room without removing the hood, BTW.

the easiest has been oil changes and common sense things like that.
hardest and most nerve racking was when the fuel pump went out 3 days after buying the car. instead of dropping the rear end like a shop would do it or the book called for i cut the exhaust off and removed a few pieces around the rear end and dropped the fule tank at enough of an angle to where i could get to the sending unit and everything... got the new one put in and 34 miles later it was brought to my attention i was a lucky person who recieved a bad pump. so back to square one i went.. this time while the tank was down i cut an access panel in the hatch.. much easier when i put a heavier pump in this time

    '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!

Easiest ---> Replacing my blower motor and resistor ... that took maybe 3 minutes
Hardest ---> Removing, machining, rebuilding and reinstalling my LS1 in a matter of 1.5 weeks ... then pulling piston chunks out of the intake 16 months later ... AND header install, that sucked.

Easiest, fill tank with gas..... Hardest was installing headers with broken motor mount!
