Mods Help

[WS6Doc]

Well Now that I got my WS6 time to start working on it already know got to do the headers and exhaust and gears but any advice on other good power mods you guys have would be greatly appriciated. I know the cam can be a big one but honestly have very little experiance in what mods should be done to this car.

Some questions:


1) Any mods already on it?


2) Your Budget?


3) What do you want? DD/street/track/show / or combo?

4) M4 or A4?


5) what year? reason asking is 01-02 already have the LS6 intake and that is one of the mods recommended.


SFC's are the number one item that needs to go one if you haven't already.



How you answer depends on what mods will be recommend. But warning we can really spend your money very easy


My sign has many of the mods that others will recommend. If you are builing a tough street/track car then you'll want to build the suspension and rear before you do the motor.

Start with the basics -- a lid on the air box, a catback and subframe connectors. After that, some lower control arms and a panhard bar. Check out UMI Performance (site sponsor) as they make great products that are made right here in Pennsylvania. It doesn't do you much good to start upping the power if you can't put it to the ground.

Also, a Frost tune can make your car seem like an entirely different one. I would wait until you complete any engine/exhaust mods before getting one. Click his link at the top for info. Many members here will testify to the value and performance from his tunes.

Thanks guys but now to sound like a total noob what are SFC's and it is a stock M6 2000. I have heard ppl talking about the SLP lid not fitting right is there a better one out there or do you just have to macguyver it on? And I am planing on using it on the strip and street so don't want to go too crazy with it but if I could break into the high 11's or low 12's i would be pretty happy.

SFC = subframe connectors

The SLP lid fits fine -- you simply have to make sure that the lid is positioned behind the lip of the lower air box.

Thanks for all the help guys hopefully I can get started on it all pretty soon does anyone know an after market site for the door panels? cause yes I do have those cracks in the plastic on top and you can't order them from GM anymore or is a junkyard the only way for me to go?

ebay is a good place to look...i got my passenger side one there. also when/if you get the new door panels, theres a fix you can do that will make them never crack...basically you have to remove the staples off holding the rubber window trim part on, then it will relax the door panel. then you drill new holes and put in tiny nuts and bolts on...the directions for the fix are on the high performance pontiac website. good luck!

You could look for 98 door panels, for some reason they do not seem to crack like the other yrs.
