VERY CUTE!

Is he a Springer or Brittney?
From the looks (not going on much without a look from the side), I'd say Springer. From the shade, I'd say possibly Brittney.
From what I can see of the pattern and his build, he looks like a field-breed Springer (verses a show-breed).
Springers rule!

Dachshunds... My specialty
Very cute. The dapples are adorable as well. I'm sure she'll love her. She looks like she's got a few weeks to go yet before you can take her home.

go buy some cheap wal mart slippers and leave them out one at a time soaked in castor oil or something like that. Need something that's gonna leave a nasty ass taste in her mouth for a while as a reminder. Do that a couple of times and I bet she'll leave them alone. I've never tried it because it just came to me looking at that mess there but I bet it'd work. They learn pretty quick.

She is usually great and doesn't get into anything. I've been gone a lot lately dealing with some personal issues (grandfather is in the hospital) so I know she's doing it to get attention from me. I've basically been going to work, coming home for an hour, then leaving again to head up to the hospital to visit him for a few hours.
Back on track though, I know Tabasco sauce works, or at least I've heard it does. She recently finally destroyed her Kong chew toy so I need to get her another one in the next day or two. I used to buy her multiple chew toys, but the Kong toys are the only ones that will last worth a damn.

How about put your slippers away
If it's on the floor and not in it's place, it's fair game when you're training a dog. Just make sure she has plenty of her own toys to chew on. Don't use Tabasco or anything else like it for that matter. That won't teach her anything.

I know! I had the same issue with socks for awhile!! She would find socks and chew on them. I think she liked the smell of my feet
Slippers would obviously smell like my feet as well. Yea, she's a strange one.
I now keep the door shut to where the dirty clothes reside. She's been doing this at night while I'm asleep btw. She lays with me while I sleep and is there with me in the morning when I wake up. So, she's getting up in the middle of the night and chewing my slippers.
This last one was over by the front door and she obviously seen me put it there.
I really need to start working with her more. I worked really hard with my lab and she listened and was extremely obedient.
I know labs are very smart dogs, but I'm sensing Kami is quite possibly even smarter.

Dogs will be dogs. It's up to us to teach them manners
A little time and effort will take care of it. She's still pretty young too. Most dogs can be mischievous up to the age of two depending on the breed.

On to bigger and better things. The bark will help keep his teeth clean and tarter free. Slippers will not

Cool!
Have a great time with your Springer!
I'm very familiar with Springers.
When the English settled in North America, they likely wouldn't have had any chance without their English Springer Spaniels and Labs. Space was limited on the ships, only the essentials where brought over from England. And, of course, that meant bringing English Springer Spaniels (the English hunting dog) and Labs. Springers are trackers (awesome!), flushers (awesome), and very good retrievers (soft non-piercing bite).
So, mankind would not exist is it wasn't for Springers! ;-) Without Springers, there would be no America (as it is today). Therefore, the world would've blown up as soon as humans built the first atomic bomb.. After the Earth blew up, it would hurtle into the sun. The sun would then go crashing into the Milky Way. The Milky Way becomes unstable, creates a huge black hole, engulfs the Universe, and the Universe ceases to exist!
So, Springers saved the Universe!
Field-breed Springers are often the best fur-kids since they are no-bite, super friendly, and very smart. They are often the dog for people with kids, or have kids around.
Note that that Springers are often not a good choice for a "guard dog".
The Springer motto is "A stranger is a friend that I haven't met yet".
Still, the fact that my doggie (field-breed Springer from a long long of AKC field champs) barks at any person (barking: COME PLAY!!!
), is good enough to cause noise and often make "bad people looking around" to move on.
