Arctic White, red/gray- 1997 Corvette, 92 Typhoon
If the car came with a 427 blown engine it would have cost double and would have been far out of its price range as far as the rest of the car goes.
And most of know living in Cali sucks.Last edited by Zinergy; 11-01-2011 at 03:11 PM.

Black- 2000 WS6 6spd Hooker LT
What are you referencing? I sense some hostility here.
That no way this car should've been on a list like this, or something else?
These were some of the most aggressively styled cars to come from Pontiac. More aggressive than Corvettes for the most part. And if you consider the bang for the buck for these late model 4th gens, and the performance when factory new, then hell yeah they were some of the best. Gotta keep in mind factory stock stuff.

I paid 31k for my 2000 WS6 from the factory.
I would of paid another 5 grand to get an LS big block in her.
Today's costs are so inflated compared to 10 plus years ago.

An extra 5 grand lol and GM charges alot more than 5 extra grand for there hand built 427s... with a blower, the blower alone would have been a 5k+ option. In order to warranty a bigger engine with more power more drive train needs to be upgraded not just the engine. It would have been cool to have a 427 blown t/a from factory i agree. But it would have been a lot more money. It was a good working mans weekend toy.

Zinergy is talking sense. 427's are too expensive for what is supposed to be an affordable 4 seater pony car market.
What has always been a pet pieve of mine, is the fact that the WS6 and SS Fbodies got the same engine/trans combo as your standard Z28 and TransAm. I too would have liked to see an engine option, but a 427 is out of the question. I tend to think of the time period these cars were produced, while the LS engine was brand new in 97, it wasn't until 2001 when GM improved upon the package and called it an LS6.
Now that is the engine that would have been nice to have as an option in the 4th gen WS6 and SS, and it could have even been a reality if GM let it happen. That could have possibly been a $5k range upgrade. As it was though, a WS6 or SS was a pretty damn expensive car for that time period, hence the low sale count.

Silver & Blue- 02 Camaro SS, 04 GTO
The T/A WS6 was the only decent car Pontiac built. That is why they are out of business. I know some GTO fans out there will call me a hater but what was the GTO, really ? So Pontiac went the way of Plymouth and Saturn. How about the 2013 Chevy Trans Am WS6 ? I like the sound of that, how about you ?

Go back 12 years of inflated money.
It would not have been like it is today.
My feeling is that GM did not want anything competing with the Vette and still doesn't
That's why I blown away that they are coming out with the monster Camaro for a bizzlion dollars.

It will not compete with the ZR1.

You're kidding right? Judging by your age, if true, you would know better than that. Pontiac built great cars, especially starting in the early 60's with the super duty, they were very dominate in nascar and later at the dragstrips until GM pulled funding in 63. Great street cars from there that were still competetive in stock and super stock NHRA, ram air III's and ram air IV's, the super duty of 73-74,,,etc The last TA and WS6 was simply a continuation of great cars, but not the only one.
Alot of great iron that seems to be sadly forgotten here.Last edited by Firebirdjones; 11-01-2011 at 08:18 PM.

Wow okay, lets see how I can make this shorter.
I'll just group it all together. How about just about any ford made from say,,,,1931 to 1973 for starters.
Then jump into the GM camp, this is a tough one because I like alot of the 30's and 40's but to make it simple we'll start at anything from 1955 to 1974ish.
The Chrysler camp deserves it's share, I'd pick anything from 1962 to 1972.
There,,,,that's alot shorter than trying to list about 200 cars I'd pick over an 03 cobra
Not that I don't like the 03 cobra, neat car, I'd own one, just definately not my first choice.
