Sebring Silver- 1998 Corvette
It's definately a legend but you have to be careful when saying the best musclecar because there are some real "jaw droppin wheeler dealer killers" out there.

Sorry Murder, but this is what happens every time a v6 making better than many v8 numbers gets brought up..
It's the main reason I see no reason to update my build thread any longer..
People get all butt hurt over v6's and quite frankly it's rediculas, especially when coming from folks whom know nothing about a good v6..
Separately:
The 3.8 BOP 90* v6 evolved into the 3800 series 90* v6 and became lighter..
It was also more reliable than any other domestic 90* v6 ever made.. (anyone whom does'nt think so can look it up)..
The 3800 series V6 went on the be named, "best domestic engine ever produced" which can also be looked up..
With reliability so well known, it get's used in everything from grandma's grocery getter, to 4x4 jeeps and rock crawlers..
When ever the LSx line and the SBC, (BBC's for that matter) which was produced for more than 50 years gains that title then people can talk legitimate shit on how terrible or how a v6 is nothing because it lacks 2 more cylinders..
"No replacement for displacement" huh?
Well time open your eyes folks, there are 6 cylinders out there well over 300 cubes, and strokers too...
So let's cut the bullshit shall we!!?

I am confused Smittro with the last statement. The OP asked " Is the Buick GN one of the best Muscle Cars Ever? ". That means the OP is asking for an opinion. You may or may not agree with them but oh well. Do I think the GN is the best Muscle Car nope. Is it a very very fast V6 yes sir. IMO the term muscle car is for cars from 1964 to 1975. That means I really don't think the LS1 f-body is a muscle car. Can the LS1 be a fast car yup. We had several fast V6's a few years back at the track. Many were modded GTP's several were running 12's. And we had a modded V6 f-body in the 13's. It was fun to watch stock or close to stock V8 cars get beat by the GTP's.

Light Pewter- 2002 Camaro SS
I'm a G-body body man owning a 87 Monte SS and can appreciate the GN and GNX's.
But muscle car? No!!!
Somebody alluded earlier to putting a turbo on a Chevette and calling it one.
Forced induction in itself IMO automatically says NO. Its not pure muscle, it took steroids!!
What made them great talking pieces is NECKCAR for one. The Monte running in the series popularized the G body even though the GNX's never ran in it, the platform was made very, very popular. Then the rarity because people whom know G body's and like them also know the rarity of those.
Thats the one thing I do not like about my G Body.
I get a shit ton of compliments about the car etc, but 85% of them come from the MILLIONS of Neckcar fans which I don't like neckcar. Tying a ball to a dogs tail is more fun than that!!!

LOL! WOW!
Who said anything about these motors being bad?! I think I may have said they were very good reliable motors no?
The butt hurt shit is so stupid. The only ones that are butt hurt around here are the ones who cant accept my opinion and let it be. I dont consider a FI 6 cyl to be a musclecar so fucking what?! Get over it. You guys consider it a musclecar thats fine I dont give a fuck. Whatever makes you happy!!!

Keep it civil guys.
And, for the record, I just purchased a V6 car this weekend that lays down 305 h.p. and 258 lb.ft. of torque. That's "muscle" in my book, as is the GN and a host of other 6 cylinder cars. The fact that they are doing it with 2 fewer cylinders than other muscle cars makes them all the cooler imo.

I'd have no shame in getting beat by a 6'er nor would I getting beat by a 4 banger. It's actually happened to me before. I had a SRT-4 whoop my ass. Granted he was boosted beyond belief, but he won and I gave him credit where credit was due.
I have not seen him since my supercharger install though. I plan on a re-match
I've always been a fan of the GN. It's just a beautiful car. One of my all-time favorites.Last edited by 35th-ANV-SS; 10-30-2011 at 09:05 PM.
